Makki
TORONTO -- Computers are playing a more central role in the home, but there's more to the home computing experience than emails and word processing. With today's launch of Familywave (www.familywave.ca) by Microsoft Canada, Canadian families and women can discover creative, fun and useful ways in which to use their home computers - from creating temporary tattoos to organizing recipes. Unique to Canada, Familywave was developed and is driven by Microsoft Canada, the initiative is the first of its kind for Microsoft worldwide. "Traditionally, our company's focus has been on the PC enthusiast but research shows that families, and women, are a growing and important audience for us, particularly in Canada," said Greg Barber, Director, Microsoft Canada Home & Entertainment Division. "More Canadians have a PC in their homes and reaching this audience effectively requires a different approach. We're doing this with Familywave." Similar to an online consumer magazine, Familywave provides easy-to- understand articles and tips that focus on topics related to Life, Style and Fun. These articles are written by freelance reporters and edited by accomplished consumer journalist, Anjali Kapoor. The site will be refreshed regularly to provide readers with timely articles and tips.
