mail
I connected my xbox 360 up to my dell 2407wfp and everything is quite blurry not sharp as I expected from HD source. I played some FIFA 07 and when the players move it is extremely blurry. Is this normal or is it a monitor fault? The monitor looks fine running windows MCE and watching TV. ToneKnee
Have you set the right resolution up on the Xbox360?

mail
[Edit] I am a fool. I had the switch on TV instead of HDTV :/. It looks very good at 1080i indeed. Would a VGA cable offer any advantages?
Meshuggah
yes...much sharper quality and custom resolutions. You have the 2407, so you could enable 1080P i believe. your resolution is 1920x1200 correct? if so, 1080p can be enabled. Also, any DVD you watch will be upscaled to 1080p as well...and it makes a very nice difference from component :D
iconboy
i was thinking about getting the same lcd, can u please tell me if you are able to run the 360 with 1:1 scale, or does it stretch it a bit? i heard that that is the problem with this LCD and a component or VGA input, it stretches it a bit, but i also heard the A04 revision fixes this problem, just hoping u can confirm. thanks
mail
The games look fantastic but the dashboard looks a bit stretched. Also there's still a bit of blurring when its lots of movement like in FIFA 07 when I cross the ball and the player waiting to receive it is blurry but when your just running with the ball its fine. It makes me suspect that this is an in game thing. Also I do see how they can fix the fix the stretching the monitors native res 1920 x 1200 and 360 outputs to 1080. So there will always be stretching? Its a fantastic monitor I highly recommend it.

It's not really as bad as people make it out to be, they are just anal-forum people. The games look fantastic but the dashboard looks a bit stretched. I believe there will always be minimal stretching, unless all of a sudden xbox 360 supports resolutions that are 16:10, which is doubtful. I don't really think it's bad (I own 2005FPW, 1680x1050 16:10) at all
ynnoj
I use VGA on my Samsung set and some games/colours looks washed out and are a little bright.
DarkGashX
I have this monitor and VGA set at 1080p - The whole thing looks amazing better! Shaper, colors are lighter. 1:1 is disabled in VGA mode and the Sharpness setting is set to 50 (wants to be set to 30) and it doesn't save the setting. OH, and remember that PAL-50 games don't work over VGA (if your in a PAL area).

Yeah, my games look sharper but I dunno, the colours in Rainbow 6 just look kinda washed out and bland compared to the game screenshots over at Xbox.com. Can anyone recommend some good contrast/brightness settings? The presets on this Samsung set don't really get the best out of the 360. Help :(

ynnoj
For those of you using VGA with a Dell monitor, here is a guide on how to fix those pesky washed out colours. It works on some Samsung sets too apparently, I don't know which though.
DarkGashX
Why does my 360 automatically use 50 hz when I set 1080i over component. There's a way around this. Switch the console to TV mode and start it up, set the console to 60Hz, turn it off and switch to HD, turn it back on and problem solved. I had a problem playing a "certain" arcade title because it is 60Hz only and this fixed it :).
flapjackman176
The 2407's have major problems with the component input, so its not the 360.. its the monitor.
lol911
Nope. I am using the components with the 360 on my 2407 and have zero problems. Maybe you have a faulty or refurbished monitor?
