Connect gamecube to HDTV

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have a Samsung LE32R74BDX, and am connecting my gamecube via the analogue port to the screen's aerial port.

For some reason though it cannot find the signal from the gamecube.

Is there something else I need to do with this? Like set something on the screen itself?

Its very annoying...

You're connecting a Gamecube using the RF adapter? Why?

I guess you'd need to make sure you were on channel 3 or 4.

I didn't even know there was an RF connector for the gamecube out of the box...

You should have a cable with three plugs, red, white and yellow on one end. The other end plugs into the gamecube.

But yeah, if you use the RF adapter the TV should be on channel 3 (usually). If that doesn't work your TV should be new enough to accept the three colored plugs. You'll select the AV1 (or whatever it's call on your TV) input selection on your TV and it should all work.

edit, just looked up your TV... yeah, there's absolutely no reason to be using an RF connector with that TV.

i suspect its one of the originals...

Are you using the correct cables that came with the gamecube. On one end you should have the red, white, yellow (audio,Video) RCA's and the other end should be a black solid piece that plugs into the corresponding slot on the back of the gamecube console.

I think we would all like to know if you have gotten it to work.

You sure your using the TV's analogue tuner and not the digital one?

Also your GC should have a RGB cable with it that you can either plug straight into the telly or a scart adapter. Failing that you can probally find some GC component cables on ebay but they keep going for around ?25/40 which is a bit crazy
