American Ninja
Hello guys, I was wondering is the headset that comes with the 360 covered under a warranty too or does that just cover the system and the controller? Thanks :) Edited February 8, 2007 by American Ninja

magik
I'm curious about this as well. I didn't even know it covered the controller that it comes with. Can somebody confirm?
DirtyLarry Veteran Posted February 8, 2007 Veteran Share Posted February 8, 2007 I can confirm, as I already have gotten a replacement Headset. I just called, said my headset was not working, they walked me through a few simple troubleshooting steps, they did not work, and they sent me out a new one no more questions asked. Impact
Yeah, lol. They always check all of the obvious ones just to make sure the person they're talking to isn't dumb :p
MadFerIt
All accessories are covered by Microsoft. Either one that was included with your system, or one you purchase at another time (as long as it's a Microsoft brand accessory). At least that's what I've been told in my dealings with the repair center ^_^.
magik
Has anyone gotten a controller replaced? I'm curious as to what exactly it is that they ask you?
AlphaPrime
Has anyone gotten a controller replaced? I'm curious as to what exactly it is that they ask you? I had my original Xbox controller replaced after one of the triggers stopped working. I called up Microsoft, told them what happened and then they sent me out a postage paid box for me to send the controller to them. After I sent it I got a brand new one back within a few days. This was about 6 months after I bought the console. I've also had my old headset brake (those flimsy ones that the original Xbox used) but this time Microsoft said they wouldn't replace it. This was about 4 months after I got the XBL Starter Kit. Although I did return it to EB and they actually game me that Halo 2 headset (worth AU$70) for free because they had none of the original headsets left. This was a couple of years ago, so it may be different now. It also sometimes depends on the person you're speaking to. If that doesn't work you could always try returning it to the store you bought it. Also this is Australia I'm talking about, our warranties are usually a bit better than in America. From Xbox.com: # One Year Express Warranty on Console. Subject to the terms and conditions of this Limited Warranty, Microsoft warrants to you only (the original retail purchaser) that, during the Warranty Period and under normal use and service, the Xbox? Console will substantially conform with the printed user instruction materials packaged with the Console.# 90 Day Express Warranty on Accessories. >Subject to the terms and conditions of this Limited Warranty, Microsoft warrants to you only (the original retail purchaser) that, during the Warranty Period and under normal use and service, the Accessory will substantially conform with the printed user instruction materials packaged with the Console or Accessory (unless a separate written express warranty is packaged with the particular Accessory). So it would appear that the headset should be covered by at least 90 days warranty.
DirtyLarry Veteran Posted February 9, 2007 Veteran Share Posted February 9, 2007 Was one of them "Is it plugged in?" :D  Sounds like you work for them or have gone through it all before, as that was Question #1. But yeah, all of the questions were super obvious.
magik
From Xbox.com:So it would appear that the headset should be covered by at least 90 days warranty. Well, actually, I purchased the 1-year Extended Service Contract and I am going to give them a ring and try to get my headset replaced (little to no sound comes out of it) as well as my controller (RB button is unresponsive sometimes). I will post back here with what happens, but it may be a few days before I get around to it. :p

No harm in trying anyhow. How much warranty do you have left?
ynnoj
My headset gives horrible feedback to my buddies when chatting. They hear some random noise that sounds like me tuning a radio. I don't need to be talking for it to make the noise neither. Is it worth replacing? Or is it something I'm doing? Also, how are the wireless headsets? Worth a purchase? Seabroo
In UK it covers everything, i had the same problem with my controller, the right bumber just didnt register, so they sent me out a new one. Also, i have had my headset replaced, and the av cable. If you buy an official microsoft accesory it is covered for one year for defects also...
