icecaveman
It frequently happens to my 360 too... The one I had before never had such issues. It also is incapable of playing some DVDs without skipping some frames, making the audio quite disturbing, even though the discs are perfect. Since I?m gonna get a better DVD player later I won't bother to replace it but it would be nice to know a easy diy fix.
k22
jammed? as in it won't open? you can always use a paper clip and do a manual eject, but if it is under a year old check the warranty and get it replaced.
icecaveman
jammed as it won't open... Sometimes I must press the eject button more than once, it's enough just to pull with the hand and it opens. Like it tryes to open but then something forces it back. neoadorable
now that's a mechanical issue and should be looked at unless it's really sporadic and not a big deal.
icecaveman
For me it's sporadic, but since I purchased my Xbox in another country than I'm currently located I think it would be to expensive to get someone to fix it.
neoadorable
well, if the 360 is available in the market where you're at now, then certainly they'll fix it, maybe for a fee because there's no global warranty service to my knowledge. however, if it's really occasional than just forget it. hard resets cure most ailments anyway. my machine has weeks when you gotta turn her on twice to get to the dashboard. no biggie. Voyn1x
Mine had exactly the same issue. I phoned Microsoft about it and they told me to send it back for repair, so i did and got a brand new one in return!
American Ninja
Sometimes my disc tray get jammed, any way of fixing that perm.? The manufactured date is 5/5/06 The same thing happened to me recently. When I press the eject button it will say opening tray and try to open but its like something is preventing it from opening and it will just sit there for a few seconds and not open but when I press the eject button again it will open. It does this every now and then. I got the two year extended warranty from MS this I should call MS about it?
what
I get the same problem pretty much every time I open the tray without a disc in it. A quick jab with my finger usually fixes it though. I leave a disc in there most of the time anyway so it isn't too much of a problem.

There's no reason you should live with a mechanical problem like that, especially if you purchased a service warranty.

+dnast Subscriber² Posted February 14, 2007 Subscriber² Share Posted February 14, 2007 Heh, I didn't realize this many people had that problem. You guys should just do like I did and get your system replaced. Eventually things will get worse and your warranty might be expired by the time you're fed up with it. I wouldn't take any chances.
