Andrew Lyle Global Moderator Posted February 11, 2007 Global Moderator Share Posted February 11, 2007 Is it just my console that i can't register online? The first console i purchased in store i registered online and everything was good. Now that i have my replacement, i tried to register online with the console number and it said it was already registered to someone else  Does microsoft send out USED / repaired consoles to people who have problems with their console? ReAnimation
Does microsoft send out USED / repaired consoles to people who have problems with their console? Yep they do exactly that. When your Xbox 360 fails and you send it in for repair you don't get a new one back, instead you get a factory refurbished one.

Pajter
I always thought that was a pretty normal procedure. But you'd think they have some kind of system to make sure you can register your console again.

MadFerIt
Ive heard that, in Canada you get a new one. In the states: refurb. I was told the same thing on multiple occasions. But it's a load of crap. You get a refurbished console just like the U.S.

When you get a "new" 360 back it should come with a letter telling you MS already registered it for you. at least mine did.
