Stalk3r
Since I use firefox, I haven't found it necessary to install IE7, hence I've got IE6 installed.

zeroday
I tried to upgrade once, but it kept giving me DEP errors after rebooting . Haven't considered upgrading since.
fanboynz
haven't upgraded from IE6, but then again I don't use Internet Explorer. No reason for me to upgrade basically.

The_Decryptor Veteran Posted February 24, 2007 Veteran Share Posted February 24, 2007 I upgraded to IE7 right after it was released, mainly just to get the new fixes for app's that use them. Never use it as my main browser though, i barely even use IETab (haven't come across a IE only (e.g. badly written) site in a while)
traderonline
i have ie6 on my old laptop. i think it is not powerful enough to handle ie7 because it has only 128mb ram :)
Calum Veteran Posted February 25, 2007 Veteran Share Posted February 25, 2007 i try not to use ie6 at all, some sites require it tho *sighs* I'm not going anywhere near ie7 Why? But why? But seriously, why? But I honestly do not understand why? But seriously, there are loads of advantages over IE 6! But SECURITY? But seriously, why don't you use IE 7? But why are u not goin anywhere near IE 7? But it's awesome! But seriously! But...oh I'm out of breath now, just tell my why you say "*sighs* I'm not going anywhere near ie7" please. It has many benefits over IE 6, best of all security and also tabs. Even if you're not going to use it, it would be best to upgrade wouldn't it for the few times that you do need to use it? Calum Veteran Posted February 25, 2007 Veteran Share Posted February 25, 2007 haha lmao. Still though weed lover, you've got to admit IE 7 is better than IE 6, right? Even if you're not using it, it is best to upgrade. If not, then can you name me 5 reasons to choose IE 6 over IE 7, please? lol.

You want to own a variety of spyware You don?t like tabs You?re a Firefox fanboy and don?t want to add +1 to IE7 downloads Your windows isn?t genuine You run some software that?s not compatible with IE7 at the moment I?m just thinking of random stupid reasons why someone might not want to upgrade but some are valid reasons. I personally think IE7 is a great improvement and have been using it since you could download the beta of it. It?s about time IE got an upgrade its looked and generally functioned the same since IE4... unless its changed and I just don?t remember.

shihchiun
I use it at school... they won't upgrade. I suppose it would cause mass panic when everybody sees a different version, but I want my tabs... I could run Firefox off a portable drive, but I can't be bothered, so I'm still using IE6. way2quik
well... i've decided to roll back to IE6. as far as i'm concerned, i never had any problems with ie6 about crashes and lag. maybe my 512mb ram just isn't enough, but i don't know. FF and Opera run smooth compared to IE7. my school library uses ie7, but all the computer labs use ie6. weird. thanks for all the replies.
RuudJacobs.NET
Why are you being so specific by adding the '6' behind 'IE'.... :shifty: I've upgraded to 7 because it is safer, then I completely disabled it in all possible ways. I reckoned that a-bit-safer software which is disabled is safer than unsafe software which is disabled...
