Pyros9
Help please. Ever since I upgraded to IE7, I can not see ANY favicons at all. And I do not have a default IE icon in their place. All I get where the icon is supposed to be is a default, blank icon. I realize this is probably just a problem with my settings, but can someone please tell me what's wrong? I have my cache set to automatically check for newer versions of stored pages automatically, and a cache size of 300. Dell Dimension 2.6Ghtz w/1GB RAM. Let me know if you need to know anything else. Thank you, Pyros9
zeroday
It sounds like you upgraded from IE6. Try removing IE7 and doing a clean install of it.

Tokar
Have you tried a simple program whos sole purpose is to download FavIcons? There are two programs I know of: The old FavOrg from PCWorld (dead program, but still works), available from Softpedia: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/Book...rs/favorg.shtml AM-DeadLink (which is still alive): http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Browser...MDeadLink.shtml Both are free...however I suggest AM-Deadlink. Its still alive and actively developed, and certainly more polished than FavOrg. You will get the task done quicker with AM-Deadlink. Be aware that both programs only obtain FavIcons for FAVORITES... Just tried them, no luck. Here is some more information: When I go in to the "Internet Options" and then view the "Settings" under "Browsing History", then "View Files" I can see all my favicons. So IE7 is getting them, and storing them. They just don't show up in the browser. Don't know if that helps anyone, but hopefully it will. Also, I've included a screen shot of my problem. Calum Veteran Posted February 24, 2007 Veteran Share Posted February 24, 2007 What skin are you using there for your OS? Also, is it on XP? Maybe it could be the skin you are using? I don't know for sure lol, but it is worth a try, if you try one of the default XP themes, you can always go back and re-skin it if it doesn't work. I tried unloading Windowblinds and then opening IE just to check, still no favicons.
neufuse Veteran Posted February 25, 2007 Veteran Share Posted February 25, 2007 It sounds like you upgraded from IE6. Try removing IE7 and doing a clean install of it. upgraded? thats really the only thing you can do! unless you slipstreamed it... as for favicons they work here fine on site load and NOT bookmarking the site... IE7 loads them for the address bar now by default on load... no need to bookmark anymore... but for me it seems to work perfectly fine
