rahst12
Hey everyone, I've been looking for a long time for a free alternative to Xbox Live. I finally found it. There is a server you can setup on your computer called XLink Kai: Evolution VII . This is the site: http://www.teamxlink.co.uk/ It's pretty cool, I figured I'd post it for everyone in hopes that more people will start getting on it. That and it took me forever to find one, so hopefully it'll help some other people.
+Dick Montage Subscriber² Posted February 21, 2007 Subscriber² Share Posted February 21, 2007 Ben using this for a while. It's a hell of a lot more complicated, less reliable and less populated. But yeh, free!
AimLXJ
This is old, there is also Xbox Connect A.K.A XBC.
SimplySchizo
This is old, there is also Xbox Connect A.K.A XBC. XBC is what I used to try out Halo when it came out without having to pay for live. Glad I didn't pay for it back then because I didn't like Halo one bit. Yes, i'm one of the few that think Halo is wayyy over-rated. After playing fps for many years prior to Halo, I just didn't see it but just for a mediocre fps game. MadFerIt
Honestly the only times I found that program useful was for Halo, and the PSP (however it was returned).

MadFerIt
Whats the most populated program like this? I'm pretty sure it is the most populated one :p. This program was great for games made prior to Xbox Live. Only real way (even still unless you have the PC version) to play the original Halo online. Ironman273
The fact that it's been around for so long and is still pretty empty speaks for itself :/
NienorGT
I think people think that is illegal, so it's why they don't use it. IMO, we pay for XBox live because it use MS's servers, but this doesn't so it's not illegal since it's separated, no?

magik
The free alternatives are certainly not illegal. They all just set up a "System Link" game over the internet.
