If I purchase in April...

Not a new version, just the newer chip production/shrink to 65nm, they also already have the newer DVD drives being sold, so you should get the quieter BenQ DVD with it for sure in april.

But the 65nm chips, I don't know, from what I remember they said they'd start making them on 65nm in April, but they might not hit stores until May?

I asked the same question of spartan X a while ago and he said that it will take quite a while for the new units to filter through the channel, around 6 months in total, add another if you live outside the US and they don't intend to label the units any differently.

That said my Box I brought early december was an october 2006 unit so hmm

What is the BenQ DVD :pinch:

It's just a newer model - it's quieter than the other DVD Drives. You're not going to be able to walk into a store and be able to tell if a particular 360 has the newer CPU. They're mixed together so people like you can't possibly have a good reason to wait, since you can't tell. Also, absolutely do not hedge your bets on a newer version of the 360 with a bigger HDD/HDMI and such. That rumor was debunked by MS - but I guess if you want to, I'd wait until GDC, and if they don't say anything there about it, it's not happening.

Great, thanks alot.

(It would be cool if we got a sticky going after GDC, just to summarize what was said about the X360)
