Question about X360 Core System.

Recommended Posts

Yes, however you will not be able to play original Xbox games. Also you can play XBLA games, but just one will fill up your memory card. IMO the core system is a waste of money unless you are getting it for alot cheaper than usual.

Why do i need a HD, if i don't use it with internet?

Well, if you never plan on downloading anything on your 360 then the core is probably going to be ok. You can always buy a HD later on if you really end up needing it. Problem is that the 360 is so much better with an internet connection, you can do so much more.

Remember that you only get a wireless controller and component cables with the premium system.

Just one Question.

If i get the X360 Core System ( 299E ) with the 6MB Memory Card ( 30E ), will i be able to play every X360 game?

Most games work without a hard drive. Those that need it should say quite clearly on the front or the back of the box and you can do a bit of research to check.

Many games work better with the hard drive attached, they use it to cache data and improve loading times (e.g. PGR3 - you can restart races faster with the hard drive).

The console itself is identical to the "Premium" console apart from the chrome on the disc tray.

Football Manager requires the hard drive, not sure of others that have to have it, but loading is improved with most games if you have it. If you don't have a hard drive, you won't be able to download game demos and live arcade games will fill up the memory card very quickly. It's much cheaper in the long run to go premium. Buying core is pretty shortsighted.

I don't want a x360 with ****in' viva pinata.

:o Yes you do :p It's a pretty good game for when you don't feel in the mood to play other more action based games.

Although your saving cash getting the core, the premium is by far the better console. You might say you don't mind wires but the feeling of being liberated from them is amazing and makes it so much nicer. Also if you have a modern TV your'll want the component cables that come with the premium, as composite is just a terrible way of transmitting colour images.

As for the Hard disk, its a lot easier to use that than it is to use memory cards that you need more of as/when your saved games overtake it. Also you can't download the trailers/demo's from xbox live without it, which imo is one of the defining features of the 360 console. Although you have said you don't intend to go online with it, its nice to have that option there for later.

Noooo, i want Saints Row and Gears of War.

Nooooo Pinataz.

Ironically Rare designed Viva Pi?ata to work perfectly on the Xbox 360 Core System. It doesn't rely on the hard drive because they thought many customers with the core console would want the game!

Both saints row and gears of war have download content, so I suggest to you getting a premium. You'll save more money in the long run, trust us.
