DrCheese
I also got an 80GB external hd, can't i use that for my x360 ? ya for music and video's but I don't think any of the xbox live stuff will download to it. Not sure about using it as a place to save to Also you can get a wireless adapter for it for internet if you have a wlan at home :D

+.Vamp Subscriber² Posted February 26, 2007 Subscriber² Share Posted February 26, 2007 spend a lil xtra cash and get the premium. It saves so much hastle if you ever NEED a HDD, or get internet, or fancy wireless convenience in the future. And lets not forget the bitchin chrome finish on the front ;) almost makes it worth it on its own!
spenser.d
To answer your question, for the most part yes. The only game I can think of that you can't play without the HDD is whatever Final Fantasy game it is that is out that installs about 5GB to be able to play, but I hear that's not such a great game anyways. -Spenser
Olemus
Football manager games need a HD due to the big cache they need on the HD, i think that in the future especially if MS do drop the console price/.release a new one we will see more games require a HD to play, Get premium/Pro itll be the best thing for you in the long run. stezo2k
You guys :o , Ive bought the Premium good choice, the cores are rubbish as you'd need to buy a HDD eventually anyway. i'm sure certain games in the future will require it
Smashing Pumpkin
I got a Core 360 cos that's all we could afford for Christmas, but I kinda wish I'd waited now and saved up for a late xmas present in the Premium console, I want a wireless controller but don't need one, I want a HDD but don't need one since I'm not able to get Broadband atm, I just don't really neeeed the stuff. If I can get broadband sometime in my area then I'll have to pay extra for the HDD and Headset :( Richard xxx

Smashing Pumpkin
Gears of War? Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion 2 very different games, 2 very good games, Gears is short and fast, action packed and great online. Oblivion is long and drawn out and could last forever if you wanted it too and it doesn't have much online, but doesn't need to to be fair. I can't play anything but Oblivion atm. Shadrack
I bet more and more games will require the HDD in time. It can be upgraded to pretty simply... I wish a standard USB 2.0 HDD would work though  I bet that it won't be long until everyone with the 20GB HDD needs an upgrade to the 120GB HDD. If there are any more games like FF Online that require a 5GB install (1/4 the 20GB) then a larger HDD will be a must. Reminds me of Nintendo 64 and the memory expansion pack required to play some games.
Pilsbury
They do work without the HDD (they can be stored on a Memory Unit). Wouldn't a memory card run out of space quite quickly when you add a few though?

Smashing Pumpkin
I don't have a HDD yet, do you guys think it's worth me waiting until they make a 120GB version, I wouldn't wanna buy a 20GB one and then have them upgrade it afterwards? I mean like, i bought a core at xmas, and, now they're gonna make smaller chips with less heat and newer dvd drives, I just feel a lil bummed y'know but it's how it goes. daveoc64
Wouldn't a memory card run out of space quite quickly when you add a few though? It shouldn't. The hard drive only stores about 30 updates at a time. They are placed in the cache and when the limit is reached, the first will be deleted and a new one downloaded. sicburns
This console is great, i have 2 games for it: - Splinter Cell: Double Agent - Fable: Lost Chapters (xbox version) And they both play great, cause in the past i was a cube/ps2 games, so i love those games. Only bummer is that Xbox 360 new games, are expesinve like 70E so the classics like Fable 15E are great for me. I'm gonna get Halo 2 soon. What are some more good xbox/xbox 360 classics
