MLB Baseball 2k7 - Official Thread

Make sure you're not pressing the button. You pull back to make your step (right before the pitcher releases the ball) and then have two choices: Let go of the stick for a level swing or push it up for an uppercut swing.

Tried it again last night - it's proven, I suck. I was able to hit a few homeruns though.

I guess I was reading the instructions wrong. I was trying to aim my hits by moving the swing stick to the left or right while swinging to hit it to left or right field. Haven't got it down yet.

well i finally got this game and i think it's pretty good. i haven't played a baseball game in a while so i sucked the first few games. the swing stick is a little difficult to get used to but i think i'm getting there. maybe we can start a neowin tournament or league sometime.

The frequency of injuries is still a bit insane on the all star level. I'm 13 - 7 and now have Damon, Mussina, Pavano, and Proctor out with various injuries.

I've been playing a franchise as the Yankees. I'm up to the third game in the first series against the Rangers (early May, I believe). I go to play the game but every time I select my uniform at the selection screen, the game locks up. Any ideas how I can get around this wonderful pain in the *** without starting a whole new franchise?

I'm impressed with the graphics over 2k6 (I couldn't even stomach 2k6, between shotty game play and lackluster graphics)

but the game play, and those annoying replays and player comments before every pitch are annoying (i know u can turn those off...but still) leaves something to be desired...

I dunno...I'm still on the fence about it, i bought it on launch, but I still like MVP 05 better, wish it worked on 360 :(

I fixed my problem. What happened was that Mussina was on the DL longer than he was injured. When he was no longer injured, he was added back to my rotation. Unfortunately, he couldn't play because he was on the DL still. The geniuses over at 2k didn't put any error checking in. The game simply freezes if you try to play using a guy on the DL still.

I think I just plain suck at this game :p.

I completely get smoked at the highest difficulty. Every pitch covering any part of the plate is creamed, straight away centre. Guess I got to practice more :p. My Jays are getting smoked in my season (10 and 15 :().

The game seems to lock up my 360 around May/June (in game). No idea why, but I usually can't get past that point.

Hova, you may want to check what happened to me a few posts up. If you have any injured players on the DL, they make be screwing up your rotation and locking it up. Also, even on All Star I had to turn down the CPU batting power a bit to make the games even fairly close.

I've read that, and since the only person I have injured is Doc (he was instrumental in me winning 6 of those 10 games), he's still on the DL and not in my rotation. I still haven't figured out why it locks the whole system (I can't even get back to the dashboard).

Anyone realize how dumb the catcher recommendations can be? Top of the 8th, I'm up 5 - 4 and seattle is up to bat, bases loaded, one out, full count. Posada wants me to throw a ball. Are you kidding me? Not even a low one, at that.

Agree with that. I ignore the catcher 80% of the time, and just make him set up somewhere else.

The only time I listen to the catcher is when I own the opposing batter's scouting report. Beating the batter that way is really easy for me, and I really like the payoff pitch they have in this game. It can make a great pitcher even better.

well i finally got the game only to realize i hate the hit stick again, well cause i suck at it. I always swing way to early and I find my self losing constantly 0-(1-3). So i switched it back to classic and i am finally enjoying this game.

I agree. The classic swing (A Button) is much easier, especially for fans of EA's aging MVP 2005.

...now if I could just figure out how to get my fielders to earn thier pay....
