Typhon
Just like five min ago I had my iPod hooked up to my 360 listing to music. Then I herd my receiver click and turn off at the same time my xbox had 3 red rings. I was like holy crap this is stupid it is only a year old. So I wanted to know if it was just a electrical surge that gave my xbox 3 rings cause it came back on no problem. Should I go get a ups for my xbox 360? O yea btw it is poring down rain like crazy so I think it is a surge.

what
So I wanted to know if it was just a electrical surge that gave my xbox 3 rings cause it came back on no problem. Same thing happened to me but I've had no problems since the incident. One thing I did have to do however was reconnect the power supply as it had managed to stop working in such a way that the USB ports weren't getting any power and I couldn't connect my wireless controller. But as I said, no problems now.

Aids
I was just wondering if you returned your 360, would you lose all your memory from your hard drive?
Rodrigo
I was just wondering if you returned your 360, would you lose all your memory from your hard drive? I think you can send your 360 without the hard drive. :)
bangbang023 Veteran Posted February 28, 2007 Veteran Share Posted February 28, 2007 Sounds like a power surge to me and nothing you should be concerned about. However, I would consider getting a power filter for all those devices to try and thwart such issues in the future.
AimLXJ
I my just send it in just because I might be able to get a new one but do not know now. Call them, and ask them is it free to fix our Xbox 360 or get a replacement, jsut remember to take out your hard drive from your Xbox 360 before you send it, and another thing, you might get the quiet version ^.^

Alladaskill17
Not a power surge. Problem with old model. I had same issue. Just send it in, you pay for UPS/FedEx/whatever to ship to the fixing place (forgot proper name). Also, you are told by Microsoft to keep your wires, check and make sure disc drive is empty, and do NOT send you HDD. They only want the bare bone console. They ship back on their dime too btw, and doesn't take too long to get back.

intrinity1
Thats the same exact thing that happened to mine. And yes it was a power surge. Only difference is mine would flash the red lights one time then i would turn it off and on again. Then it would work for a little while, but then all of a sudden it will go to all red on the screen but still show the game. I let it sit over night n stuff but still kept doing the same thing. Sent it back to MS and they replaced it.

It was a surge.

I miss the SNES days of gaming. I'm in New Hampshire and it only took 13 days from when I sent it in, just sent mine out on Feb 13th and got a replacement on Feb 26. I mailed it USPS Priority and it was shipped back UPS 3 day.
