S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl - GOLD

about time anyway. This should mean no more delays lol. But in S.T.A.L.K.E.R's case, anything could happen lol.

I'm glad the graphics aren't Crysis like tbh, as it will mean I'll be able to play it at a decent res.

Graphics aren't everything. Hell, I've been playing the orignal half life lately, and its still fun, despite the graphics being very dated

lets cross our fingers for a sequal then

So did you follow the games development for the past 2 years because you wanted to play it or was it more to settle your personal vendetta:P . 3 cheers you won!

I love this post here https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?show...amp;p=585812023

Funny when you think about what we are on today.

Nah, I've been following the development since 2003, so 4 years :p

I can confirm that the Dx8 engine runs beautiful on those specs. Though the Dx9 engine takes a fair bit more running. (and also needs pixel shader 3...won't work on PS2.0 :( )

I tell you what, fair play to the developers. Not often can someone delay a game so long and the graphics still be good (remember daikatana?!?!). I am looking forward to this game, it has a unique premise and gameplay that should prove interesting. Normally I buy a game I like legally after i've tried it first, but this i'll be getting retail from day one just because it looks like they have done such a good job with all the set backs.

and will retail for $39.99.

Odd.

I've been interested in this for a while now. I think I'll play it when it comes out and when i have the extra money.

Wanna know how to tell the diff between the guys who been playing games since the NES/SNES and your PS2 3D generated kids?

The NES/SNES guys all say "I play games for gameplay"

Nice to see that a game is unplayable if it dont have leet graphics

SNES gamer here. Anyway the graphics are quite good IMHO for something which is in all fairness quite old. The enemy models are the one thing I think look quite dated but considering the delays the game has held its own quite well. And yes when I read that gamespy preview I knew this was one game I had to try. It certainly sounds very unique.

On a sort of related note I hope bethsda come through with the fallout license.

does anyone know the specs for this game?

What are the recommended system requirements for the game?

AMD Athlon 64x2 4800+ or Intel Core 2 Duo, 1Gb RAM, 3D Hardware Accelerator Card Required - 100% DirectXR 9.0c compatible 256MB (Geforce 7800, for example).

It should be noted that at the start of the game development our initially targeted system requirements were much lower. As a result (and due to the lengthy game development) the game can be played well on lower-end systems (the game ships with two renders - DirectX 8 and DirectX 9 one).

Additionally, the game allows to scale various options for optimal performance. For the maximum quality and performance, the more powerful system you have, the better.
