S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl - GOLD

There isn't a reason to complain about graphics... so many people say Oblivion has the best graphics of a game with its outdoor environments. Well, if that is true, STALKER has better because at least it looks realistic rather than fake, and has a great atmosphere to it all. The building and indoor textures and lighting is phenomenal, better than Half Life 2 and much better than Oblivion. It is a bit linear, but it is much less linear than other FPS games so it is fun! And the realism is better basically every FPS game out there.

Ummmmmmmmm...

You have multiple non-work safe pictures of "she males" on your "blog" (pornsite). Probably not a good idea to link to it here.

im so glad i didnt click that link

i haven't played the game yet but in some reviewers i read the reviewer noted to how his gun locked up 2 times during 1 fight he was in, so my question is anyone have that happen yet cause i tell ya that really makes the exsperiance more real.

Yup, i was in a gunfight and my gun jammed. All you need to is reload though and it fixes it. I didn't die thank god!

it has guns that jam? ok, now i'm going to get it. finally the concept occurred to somebody! hope reloading is realistic as well, meaning bullets don't add up individually but by clip?

good to know there's an option to play on the original language track.

Guns jamming made you want this game?? I think if all shooters had guns jamming it would quite annoying, as games are suppose to be more skill based, rather than luck.

well in stalker Guns will jam and wear down after time so as the Developers have said they wanted to create a game that felt more to real life and i think with the a-Life system and all the other little things they have pulled it off.

I think the outside environment looks a bit dated but it still looks great, maybe the weapons and arms are a bit fullbright but the inside environments live up to standards..

side note:

THIS GAME is hard as hell..

jamming just makes it much more fun and "realistic" for me, altho realistic is of course not a must in a game. but some things are hard to swallow even as a gamer, meaning weapons that always perform to spec.

They should've toned down the Jamming, an AK rifle doesen't freaking jam almost once per clip - It's so retarded.

an AK47 should jam once in a blue moon and if it does, it should be quick to unjam it. It's not called the most reliable assault rifle for no reason, and this being a russian game, they should know!.

note..... lags like hell for me, even at 1024x768 at LOW with static lightning as suggested in earlier posts with my 6800gt and dual core opteron. I must be configuring something wrong or it's the game that doesn't like my stuff.

Hmm, after I turned down to static lighting, I was able to but everything to the max at 1600x1200. I have an A64 3200 @ 2.6, 1gb RAM, and a 6800GS

AK's generally don't jam much, it's true, but they're really susceptible to rust and locking up. isn't the hardware in the game supposed to be old and derelict?

not having played it yet, it could be they made it just into an annoyance and distraction, but overall i'd say it's a nice touch and a novelty in games, much like GoW's active reload.

I'm able to run it at 1680x1050 with static lighting on high with a a3000+@2.67, 1 gb ram and an OC'd 6800gt.

Well you'd think the Army would use recent weaponary.

Touch wood I've not had a gun jam once. Using a silenced AK and a rapid fire AK (lifted from one of the quest locations). Both hit like a bus but I can't hit a barn door even on single fire. Tend to go for the sawn off shotgun and blow them away. :E

I'm on the first part of the game. I am disappointed so far as I hate games where you have to raid bodies, use inventories etc., spoilts a good FPS in my opinion. Also, it's confusing to know what to do, where to go etc., radar or not.

Ah well, I'll stick at it, see if I like it more eventually.

You mean you didn't know it was something like a RPG/FPS hybrid ?

this sucks, you finish the game and can't keep playing anymore. Gotta start over, last save is where you can't go back.

got the game yesterday and from what i can tell, it is amazing. surprisingly it does not lag much for me at the settings it put for my computer. just a bit of lag in the start of a game but that is something that a bit more ram can fix. my specs are A64 3200+, 1.5 gb ram, x1900gt 256mb, onboard sound.

I need a teleport cheat...

//edit

can somebody upload his save file? doesn't matter where, as long I don't have to start from the beginning

Ok, so for some reason I had terrible lag at 1024x768 at low settings. Today I rebooted, set the game at my max res of 1280x1024 with maximum settings on static light and it runs great :o
