Release date for Blue Dragon & Lost Odyssey revealed. (U.S. &

In a pre-GDC meeting with 1UP, Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi revealed that Lost Odyssey, the second RPG from Sakaguchi's Mistwalker Studios, would ship this Christmas simultaneously in Japan and the United States. This simultaneous release comes as no big surprise, as Lost Odyssey seems to be more targeted toward a Western audience. Some of the proof of this can be found in Lost Odyssey's lip-syncing; the game is being lip-synced with English actors and the Japanese will be dubbed. Additionally, Sakaguchi said that the U.S. release of Blue Dragon is currently slated for an August release. In line with Microsoft's strategy for downloadable content, Blue Dragon has plans for downloadable content -- that content includes a new dungeon.

Sakaguchi also mentioned that Mistwalker's Nintendo DS RPG Ash will be due out this holiday season.

Very exited about these two games. And I'm also glad I now have a DS (Ash sounds pretty sweet).

*Btw part of the title was cropped out.. If a mod can fix it I'd appreciate it.

Oh there's also some news from Kotaku. Blue Dragon when it's released in North America will include the original japanese audio, as well as an english dub. This is a big deal to people like me, who prefer the original audio in anime/games/etc.

It shouldn't tank, I think MS will push it alot, and also bang home the fact that it's made by the creator of Final Fantasy. This will help it sell in the US because people who really liked the FF games will check out blue dragon and Lost Odyssey.

I like the look of Lost Odyssey, but Blue Dragon looks far too cartoony for my tastes.....

I never really liked the "art style" of DBZ. I prefer the more steam-punky type stuff from the actual FF games, or the sci-fi/dark ages type stuff of Star Ocean

I can't wait for any of these games. :D I'll finally have a use for my DS again, too. I  you Sakaguchi. :p
