Melhisedek
Man this has to be worst day for me ever... After really, really bad day I put in my new and shiny GRAW2 disc into my 360. While fooling with settings damn thing gives me some static noise and than freezes with checkerboard pattern... I'm like WTF, reboot, try again, get into another option field checkerboard again. I'm starting to worry, reboot, 3 lights of death... I hope game is faulty (it downloaded some kind of update when I put it in) I start CoD3 and bam freeze with checker stuff again... I tried cooling it, leaving it for a while, opened all windows, tried all xbox and 360 games I have... nothing :( Only thing I did are, I installed new multi console component cable, popped GRAW 2 in and downloaded the damn update for the game. Anyone else had any similar issues? What worries me is that this is a launch machine and warranty is probably out on it. Awful lot of money went on that machine, I'm starting to feel sick :/
mattmatik
I assume you tried your old video cable?

Mr. Gibs
Damaged gpu probably. Could have been a problem from the start and over time gotten worse, until today when it finally gave up. Unlucky m8 :(
Sanbon
Its probably on the way to being dead. Mine did something similar to that before it stopped working all together. If it was purchased inside the last year it has a 1 year factory warranty, even though the box may say 30 days. MS changed the policy and gave everyone a 1 year warranty from the date it was purchased.
Mr. Gibs
It won't be under warranty because he said its a launch box. 360 launched almost a year a half - two years ago lol.

Melhisedek
yeah no warranty on this one :( I feel really, really bad right now. So many games coming out soon, I even bought a LCD TV to play games in HD :(
Digitalx
This is living :) jks lol anyway ring the supprt phone number and get onto them about it. its better being charged to fix 360 then have spent a dump load on it for nothing. either that or just lie and sell it on ebay for cheap-er ;p Edited March 10, 2007 by Digix
cosine
What you're describing is how my very first 360 bit the dust. I'm on #3 now, for the record. I like the 360, but damn if the build quality doesn't suck. My launch unit that I camped out for died within a month, my replacement died in another 3, and my 2nd replacement's been sketchy for a while now. I'm starting to get more lockups and disc read errors. Thank god I got the extended warranty.
