Crysis 360 Rumours

Recommended Posts

I read somewhere (on neowin) the that Xbox 360 version will differ from the PC version, but can't remember any more details than that.

that will be nice, as i've all but decided to steer clear of PC gaming. i now it's a sell out move, but hey, that's life sometimes.

the big debate is whether or not the 360 version will be able to keep up with the top-end PC specs.

I sure hope it comes to 360.... so I don't have to upgrade my computer to play >,<

To assume it's going to come to the 360 is a bit silly... there's nothing to imply as much. Far Cry wasn't brought to the original Xbox or 360. A completely different game using a similar name was, but it's hardly the same thing -- the quality wasn't the same, the gameplay wasn't, and the graphics weren't.

I'm sure we'll see something with a Crysis name. I hope it's the PC version of the game with slightly downgraded graphics, but it's only a hope.

I think to assume that we can't expect that same level of graphics just becasue there is no DX10 hardware is a little naive. The fully programable platform that the 360 represents means that they could easily recreate it with the same level of graphics as PC if they are willing, and to be honest, due to the largely shared platform, with not that much difficulty :D.... we'll see. Maybe not the AA levels of an 8800 GTX.... yet :p

so you think the 360 really can't handle Crysis gfx on a DX9 footing? that should be good enough for us.

The 360 can't handle Crysis as well as a fully DX10 PC can, according to Crytek. That's all I meant.

sorry dude, the question wasn't meant as a challenge, was really just asking.

i know what you mean - it's probably too much for a 360 to pull.

I dunno what's going on, but here's quotes from Spartan_X in this topic.

That doesn't look any different from the Xbox 360 version I saw recently... shiftyninja.gif
no I am not... the 360 and PS3 versions of this game are already getting some work done...

Whether he's telling the truth I'm sure we will find out in time.

I do remember Crytec saying they were porting Cryengine2 to xbox360, But whether Crysis will actually be ported.. I don't know. But yea if they do port I hope it's better than FarCry was.

yeah crysis on Windows Vista will feature the DirectX 10 updates (better looking) and the Xbox 360 version will be based on DirectX 9

Doesnt the xbox 360 run a modded version of direct x, i've heard people say its "Direct X 9.6" or something...so the difference wont be mind boggling.

honestly havnt you seen this coming? M$ throws its money around everywhere at devs to make their games for the 360. why do you think that there has been a drought of PC games? well.. theres the reason right there.
