Core, Premium and a 360 with a PS3 Cardboard cover :p ?

lol

More seriously, Spartan could just be talking about the Dev Kit, or the prototype HDMI console which MS claim they won't release.

Or of course he could be talking about a totally new version of the console which we may see this year.

Or he could be talking out of his arse again... Do you remember his GDC post.

So since the premium would drop in price;

Does this mean that the "Black" one will be the same cost of the premium as it is NOW, or will it be more money than the premium is NOW.

Bump

hey Nightmare people get upset about this one because its a major change. The other consoles you listed were highlighting either trivial mods/changes or major changes when the console was already mature and established.

the 360 is still in its initial stages, the change to the HDD as rumoured is a big one, and to an aspect of the machine considered flawed by many. these factors and others will make the topic controversial.

A bigger HDD isn't a shock at all, I think you all saw it coming with the start of Lives video downloads etc. It get that service to work right a bigger HDD is needed. It's just logical and thus will happen at one point. I think they want to get rid of as many 20GB hdds in stock as they can before they reelase a bigger version.

Now a new console with another color isn't such a big thing, Sony had loads of limited edition PS2's with a few different colors, and will have a silver PS3 later on (unless this changed). The key is the added HDMI, if true the key part is, does the new HDMI connection replace the one the 360 has now? Or does it have both? If it replaces the older one and is HDMI only then that's a bit different when you think about it.

Lots of people (like me), don't have TVs with an HDMI connection yet, so the newer model, if it only has HDMI isn't a option at this point. It could also be that we could get a newer cable with HDMI for older models also, until MS says something official about HDMI we can only guess if a cable is doable or not.

Do you not honestly think that if an HDMI cable was possible on the current 360, that they would bring one out?

Of course, several weeks ago, Spartan_X claimed to have "exciting" info about the 360 and HDMI. Which never appeared, same as his 'predictions' for GDC - which turned out to be a bigger memory card. Stunning, seeing as he described it as "Sony getting raped", I'm sure Howard Stringer is considering Seppuku with that revelation.

Interesting tidbit here. Since we're all about the black 360 again, someone mentioned how making it black would throw off the whole "white/grey" thing Microsoft has going.

Anyone else remember getting this survey?

Not sure how much it actually means now, but it's something to ponder.

Getting rid of the core package is a good move.

Making the hard drive a standard should have been done from the start, I like the idea the PS3 has of installing games.

Uhhhgg...jesus god no. For some reason this does not settle well w/ me at all. I want to be able to take my game over to a buddies and not have to wait 30 minutes while it installs.

I'm sure we will see HDMI output on an XBox 360 sometime before this generation dies and the next gen comes. The question on everyones mind: will it be an upgrade for current xbox 360 owners or only be a treat for those who waited.

I really don't care what color the console is.

Maybe I was wrong.. but wasn't there way back in the time before time was time, a presentation or something where MS said there would be three different version of the 360, each with more desktop capabilities and what not? Perhaps thats all changed now.. but still.. did I imagine that? :p
