The game in the background is supposed to be Cattle Battle.. Yeah I've never heard of it either. But this is definitely something the 360 needs.

Now.. When is that announcement about the 360 Silver accounts getting multiplayer for free?

*Hey guys, unfortunately Major Nelson killed the "system wide" clan system claim. But these pictures are real, from a demonstration of what features game developers can utilize with Xbox Live. In this case, game specific clan systems (something I hope Halo 3 will include). You were right Huleboeren.

Never...It's like 14 cents a day for a gold account...is it really that expensive?

Cool news though.

honestly i like the Clan option as my clan (ARC) for Battlefield 2 would all appreciate it.

I would like to see email and web browser support (although many people will most likely complain about it)

AND I REALLY WANT MY XBOX 360 TO READ GAME DISCS PROPERLY AGAIN SINCE THE LAST UPDATE PHUKED IT!

Reads music, DVD's and photo CD's fine though.

I want native DivX/Xvid support damnit! Then the 360 would be perfect. :)

Oh, and fixing the disc read errors would make me happy as well. :)

Well Spartan already hinted at it. Whether it's true or false he hasn't confirmed though.

To me, it looks like the GAME/DEVELOPERS has added clan support - not Microsoft in some update :s

How much can developers tamper with the dashboard menus?

I want free gold.

That won't happen. But regular multiplayer added to Silver most likely will (if Spartan really was hinting at it, which I'm very sure he was). I would expect Gold to change along with it, part of it being cross-platform multiplayer, clan support, dedicated servers, etc.

Well that's just it. They can't. It's part of the O.S. not the games. But whether or not clan support is system wide or only on a game to game basis isn't really answered (that is assuming these photos are real, and I don't really see any noticeable evidence that they aren't).

If you look at the second photo it's part of the regular O.S. (which can be launched within any 360 game, and is not game specific). It's possible that the Clan system is fully customizable, meaning that it gives you the ability to change the title of the clan, the ranks, and even the clan's gamerpic. That might explain why it appears to be part of the game.

Either that, or the support is on a game to game basis. Which means you can create a clan in Halo 3, but you have to make a seperate one for another game, etc. I hope that isn't the case, and it's system wide. But either way it's better then the clan support the 360 has now (which is none).

add to that games for windows live silver will have free PC-PC multiplayer, so I think that may hint at xbox live soon having xbox to xbox free multiplayer.

It might be possible. I know on BF2 if you're signed in on the EA servers and you go to somebody's profile through the Guide it does say "Battlefield 2 Clan Opt" above "Invite to Game" and the rest of the normal options. It's nowhere as extensive as the screenshots you posted, but it does seem that developers can alter the menu in the guide somewhat.

I'm still hopeful that what was shown is implemented in the OS. That's the right direction for an already good online system. But hopefully there's more to the Spring update since I don't really do clans.

What is clan support like right now?

I mean, if I were in say, a Rainbow 6 clan. Do they play regular clan wars? If not, what is the point of a 360 clan?

I was a pretty competitive PC clan gamer for some time, and in most games, we played together every evening.

I'd like to see Microsoft set up some dedicated servers that clans can book out. That way, clans serve some purpose on Xbox Live.

I agree with a bunch of you guys, I would rather have the DIVX native support with better Media Center features rather than a clan support.

XBMC is PERFECT for me, but I wouldnt mind to use my 360 for some streaming as well.

Yes, we need free multiplayer for silver accounts. I haven't even bought a subscription since I got my 360 almost a year ago. Just don't think I'd be playing online enough to justify purchasing a subscription.

xbox live gold is incredibly cheap, silver people should NOT get multiplayer, they should be thankful they get what they get.

13 cents a day is not too much for xbox live. Some of you people must squeak when you walk.

Just do remember that some people is really poor, they need to pay for lots of stuff and even 13 cents can come in handy someay to save your life.

Wow. That was immature. Let me guess, you live in a world where everything is payed for you, and you can't even comprehend why Xbox Live Gold may cost "too" much for some people. Great job man.
