tonyh21
Just do remember that some people is really poor, they need to pay for lots of stuff and even 13 cents can come in handy someay to save your life. If somebody thinks 60 bucks is too much, then why would they spend 400+ on 360 and games.
v0ltage789
Wow. That was immature. Let me guess, you live in a world where everything is payed for you, and you can't even comprehend why Xbox Live Gold may cost "too" much for some people. Great job man. Wow, I'd really like to call you a multitude of names right now to express my opinion of your stupidity, but I think I will skip the warnings that would come after. NO ONE NEEDS TO CRY TO ME THAT I AM NOT SYMPATHETIC TO POOR PEOPLE AND 13 CENTS A DAY COULD MEAN LIFE OR DEATH. IF THIS IS THE CASE, HOW ABOUT SELL YOUR 400 DOLLAR 360 ALONG WITH THE 60 DOLLAR GAMES!!!! JESUS BLAHHH ARGHH!!!!!! ITS CALLED YOUR CHEAP BASTARDS AND WANT SOMETHING FOR NOTHING. Pc_Madness
ITS CALLED YOUR CHEAP BASTARDS AND WANT SOMETHING FOR NOTHING. I concur. Sony's may be free.. but we're all well aware of how desperate Sony is.. and as for Nintendo.. I don't think they've even implemented online play yet have they? For the price of what.. 3/4 of a game.. you can play online on a system better than Sony or Nintendos.. I don't see why you shouldn't be willing to pay that. George P Global Moderator Posted March 19, 2007 Global Moderator Share Posted March 19, 2007 You'll only get free multiplayer if they can work more paid ads into the online games to pay for the server costs. Or have Golds multiplayer be more advanced with support for more things. I just think that any online multiplayer that is "free", will be filled with ads that it'll drive people crazy. Wow congrats on toping your previous post in terms of immaturity. First off, the console isn't $400 period, the cheaper model in the U.S. is $299 correct? Second, I have Xbox Live Gold, and even if multiplayer was free for Silver membership I would still purchase it, so please don't call me a cheap ******, because I'm not. And it's very naive to assume someone is either wealthy enough to get the 360/gold/games or either he's too broke to afford the console itself, it doesn't always work that way, there are individuals in between. Also, yes even the core console is $299, and that isn't cheap. But some people may only have the extra cash to spare to buy the console itself and a game or two. The silver experience means no online competition, and I certainly have no problem if Microsoft decides to give those individuals some multi-player action. What does it matter to you? Are you so stuck up you'd hate to see a feature you pay for happen to also be given to those who don't? Newsflash, if Microsoft does this there will be a new features for Gold subscribers that don't exist right now. And again, you make the odd generalization that either someone can afford gold/360/games or he can't afford the console at all. That isn't how the real world works bud. The bottom line is THIS. You get a lot for 13 cents a day from Microsoft, and if you can afford an XBOX 360, games, and a broadband connection, and still claim that gold cost to much, you are CHEAP. Silver is meant for people that don't have an interest in online competition, if you do, please don't come here and complain of the cost, because it is MORE than reasonable. If you want to leave another big long post denying the obvious then go ahead. I am sure I can prove my "immaturity" for you again. Until then, go count those pennies, I think you might have dropped one - maybe file a police report?
WelshBluebird
In the end ?35 is not much. (especially if you can buy a ?200/?280 console). Your talking about the cost of one game, so if you want to play online, just get a gold subscription instead of a game. Or perhaps just trade in a few old games, and then you only have to pay a small amount (or nothing at all depending on the games you trade in). ienhz
lol I can't believe you guys are trying to convince people it's a good idea to be paying for something the competition provides for free. sure sony's might not be that good so far, but what happens once they start making it better than live? what are you guys going to argue then? i know the subscription itself doesn't cost much. but paying $60 cdn just to be able to access a centralized server (which doesn't even host any of the games) seems a bit ridiculous to me, and that's why i choose not to purchase a subscription. so it's not always about money, but what people think is WORTH their money. v0ltage, i shake my head at your post. and in case you're too naive to see it, you ARE immature. So many things wrong with your statement, not worth arguing about. If you think the PS3's online solution even begins to compare to XBL you have some sort of serious mental disorder. I pay for Gold, I love it. You are so bloody sensitive and biased that if someone even mentions the possibility of free multiplayer with Silver it gets you storming. You seemed to miss that entirely didn't you? You know, because you call me Cheap and etc. Oh and you also ignored the fact that even with free multiplayer over Silver accounts I would still buy Gold eh? I think you need to learn how to read and comprehend other's opinions/views. And this is hilarious, point to me in any post where I complain about the cost of Xbox Live Gold, I said to some individuals it is, not myself, or the majority of gold users. Why are so bloody stuck up? And to the last sentence in your post, again you seem to fail at understanding anything I've said. Grow up please. Oh and one more final comment. The reason why silver multiplayer is going to most likely happen (not counting Spartan's hints at it), is because on Windows Vista multiplayer is included as part of the silver package (and that's obviously necessary since PC users have been enjoying multiplayer gaming for quite some time without fee, unless it's an online rpg). And this live service is both xbox/PC combined, thus it would make sense from a marketing standpoint to get both the Vista and Xbox service to an identical feature list. I would love to see a whole new level for what "Gold" provides. Major Nelson, shot down this on his podcast today. Unfortunately that is true. But he did say that it was a demonstration on what individual games can do with the Xbox Live service. Meaning, clan support on a certain game, etc. Most likely what will be included with Halo 3. I do wish it was system wide though.

SQUEAK SQUEAK.::hands you a tissue::: Uh. Do you remember what I called you out for? Maybe I was far too extreme in calling you immature, but your distaste for the very idea of "Silver" free multiplayer was just odd. And the fact that I do know a few 360 owners who while were able to afford the 360, just don't have the extra cash for Gold, when all they want is to fight people online. I see no problem with that, in fact I think it's a great idea if Microsoft takes that step. And you also don't like Sony very much eh? Well doesn't free silver multiplayer defeat any arguments concerning Sony's online being superior because it's free? It means even for free you get a vastly superior service then PSN. And here's the big draw for Gold users. Look at what we get now, online multiplayer, multiplayer achievements, matchmaking, TrueSkill system. If they take out online multiplayer as being a "Gold" benefit it means they have to replace it with something else.. Dedicated servers, new multiplayer features?? Etc etc. And it would be a great move by Microsoft to diffuse the excitement over Home, as long as they don't wait too long for the announcement.
