suicide_pact
I'm not sure how to retrieve them, but I'd recommend an online storage solution to prevent it. I use google browser sync, but there are myriad options. I would say check all the obvious places, esp. firefox forums. I don't know if uninstalling VPC 07 will help, but you might want to try. thollian
Make sure that the localstore.rdf file in your profile folder is writable... alright, thanks, I had to delete that file, and then reopen firefox, and it re-created it, and now it remembers! thanks! zhangm Supervisor Posted March 20, 2007 Supervisor Share Posted March 20, 2007 Sounds like the installation mucked up at least some of your profile settings. Just to be safe, you should probably back up the bookmarks, prefs.js, user*.css modifications, and any extensions, and purge the entire profiles folder. thollian
well it is starting to look like it did more then just mess up firefox....over half of my applications are not working, and they won't repair/reinstall....virtual pc really did something to my pc... I keep getting this error all over my PC: A fatal exception 0x00000005 has occurred at 0x00503624 (read 0x00000004C)
zhangm Supervisor Posted March 20, 2007 Supervisor Share Posted March 20, 2007 Well, since this isn't about Firefox anymore, why not start a new thread in the WinVista support forum, and give hardware specs, Vista edition, and the link where you downloaded VPC07 from. toadeater
Firefox still dosnt really support Vista properly. Give IE7 a try for a while until Firefox 3 comes out or something As you can see, this entire incident was caused by MS software and had nothing to do with Firefox. As a matter of fact, you should appreciate how easy it is to recover or save a Firefox profile (the entire app can be portable if you want) compared to the bloated mess that is IE7. Not to mention the bloated mess that is Vista.
