Time for me to forget firefox, (move to opera) its the past now untill it improves its engine and to make it load webpages faster!

I hate firefox as it is slow for me when loading webpages it takes a while to load images onto the page properly i find IE faster but Opera, its fast as hell for me, firefox, nah just use it, fast at first then starts to slow down. i dont know why but it does for me!

Im going to be giving opera ago!

FireFox is the fastest for me... One more thing, you could try to use Fasterfox addon, which helps for some people to achieve better results. And about the engine, wait for FireFox 3.0 which is already in development for some time...

I just switched from firefox again, I switched back to firefox because opera's tab thumbnails weren't working and it was annoying the hell out of me, but they decided to start working again. and yesterday I started getting masdive memory leaks in firefox for no apparent reason. Might consider switching yet again when firefox 3 comes out.

Well i never liked firefox always slowed down my system and browsing it faster in IE. FF takes a lot of memory like 80 MB with 1 site opened. Shifting to Opera myself. I use 2 browsers FF and IE now after trying opera will probably uninstall FF..

But is there an application for opera like Informenter ?

I like Opera, but the browser doesn't work well with Google Reader. And the add-ons for Firefox I cannot live without. (Adblock Plus with updated ad filtering list is my #1)

Ye I fink FF2 is getting slower for me 2, eg start up is so slow ( dunno if i got 2 many xtensions). Have u try Maxthon 2 beta yet? I fink its much better than firefox 2. Gona switch to M2 as soon as its in final stage. Gona give opera a try now.

If you are thinking like that you might as well wait for Opera core-3 engine to complete. Opera 9 is currently based on core-2.

I like Opera, but the browser doesn't work well with Google Reader.

That's because Google loves Firefox. Although 95% of Google applications work as they should on Opera, Google engineers have decided to not support it since they are into open source :pinch: Talking to Google executives does not help since they employees do as their want.

You may need therapy of you are frightened by a browser.

Opera has always been my favorite, but I keep the big 3 installed and use them all. Quite a few excellent choices nowadays, cant complain about that.

  • 2 weeks later...
Opera is as fast as hell for me too... Good thing you are switching to Opera.

?Especially if you have dial up, nothing even close in my experience. One of the main reasons I stuck with Opera for so long was because it took so long to get broadband to my house, which is ironic as I live in the silicon valley.
