MadFerIt
Hey guys I just tried it out myself. Puts it more in line with the PS3 version in terms of distant terrain. Also the menu system is far smoother. Shivering Isle is soon ;). Here's a list of all the changes/fixes: http://www.elderscrolls.com/downloads/upda...tchnotes6.htm#

I would probably play the game more if the load times weren't so long. The game should start loading an area before you open a door if you are coming up to it or something. Especially in a small area with lots of rooms behind doors.

But one of the changes in that list is "Optimizations to file loading system." so there may be an improvement.
MrCobra
Just think, in 5 more years with better H/W this game may actually play decent.

I played the game for over 200 hours in the end.. I don't think I would have spent so much time on a game that didn't play decently.

Why many people say they have problem with "Loading Area..." when my system is not that up to par with gaming system and yet it loads so dam fast. My comp loads new area less than a fraction of a second. Shadrack can you tell me how long do you have to wait for the load to finish? Mine is barely 10th of a second long. Well the big difference is because on your PC you install Oblivion to the hard drive, thus everything is loading on the hard drive. With Oblivion on the 360 it's loading data off the DVD-ROM, and the hard drive is used for caching. The PS3 version has the option to install onto the HDD, and I wish the 360 had it too :p. When you're out in the open and the system is streaming more of the environment it only takes a split second, but when you go through doors or "teleport" the loading screen comes up for anywhere from a few seconds to maybe 10 seconds or more. We're talking about the 360 version not the pc ;) might go shove the disc in and let me 360 grab the update then.

Krome
Check what forum you are in please. This is the Microsoft Console Gaming forum, so we are discussing the XBox 360 version of the game not the computer version. Sorry that I didn't realize it was about the XBox 360. Thought that many complain due to PC gaming experience. Thanks for clarifying that. Been wondering why many complain about the loading. I neglect the other facts. When you're out in the open and the system is streaming more of the environment it only takes a split second, but when you go through doors or "teleport" the loading screen comes up for anywhere from a few seconds to maybe 10 seconds or more. Thanks for clarification on that. And yeah... that's about right but on my PC, it loads less than 10 seconds when the loading screen is open. We're talking about the 360 version not the pc ;) might go shove the disc in and let me 360 grab the update then. Yeah.. thanks and sorry everyone that I neglect to think about the 360 gaming console. I guess I forgot cos I am a computer user and my automatic inquiry is directed at PCs. My honest mistake. I didn't read the breadcrumb link, only the title and content.
goji
does this ruin the item duplication with the arrow trick? I think previous updates fixed this bug among others. Boy was Oblivion buggy....
halcyoncmdr
Well, the previous update fixed one of the dupe glitches, but there was still one left, hence why people are still asking about it. I would like to know as well, I don't really use it, but I liked having it there in case I neded it... like getting kicked out of the Fighter's Guild and having to get 20 Bear Pelts... WTF where do you find a bear!? haha :D
FreqFace
Well it would look better if everything in the distance didn't look like plasticine.
Smashing Pumpkin
Do you need a hard drive and Live for this, or is there any slight possibility it can be downloaded on PC and burnt to a cd and put in the 360... some, miraculous crazy way... :( want a HDD and Live, crappy remote home... halcyoncmdr
I believe you at least need the hard drive to install the update... not sure if you need live though...
Smashing Pumpkin
No update for me then, I can't get broadband where I live so no Live, and I stream music from my PC, so I really can't justify a HDD, thinking of buying an XBOX 1 second hand to play original games, would be cheaper than a HDD :s ! Richard xxx p.s. Can a 360 controller be used in the XBOX 1?

Smashing Pumpkin
So I'd have to use an XBOX 1 controller, hmm, that sucks... hmm... Richard xxx
halcyoncmdr
There are 3rd-party adapters that allow you to use 360 controllers in the original, and vice versa... but you'll have to find them. I was looking for one before I bought my 360 and I only had an xbox and a 360 controller...
Smashing Pumpkin
Interesting, that would give me an excuse tyo use the wired controller on the xbox 1 and buy a wireless job, yummy! Thanks for the info mate :) Richard xxx
