sicburns
Is there any, or will there come a web browser for the 360?
ToneKnee
There isn't at the moment, you never know that the future may hold.
Huleboeren
No such thing - and its not schedueled/announced yet :p Id love one Yesterday, I used the webbrowser on the PS3 to view youtube videos for the whole family on our 32" samsung great fun! And if youre stuck in a game, dont know what to do? Quit the game, open up the webbrowser, head to gamefaqs.com and read walkthroughs/hints Restart the game and progress Without even moving your arse from the couch :p
TDQuiksilver
Surely they must be planning to implement one eventually? I think it's a great addition to have on any console. I've found it useful many times.
NightmarE D
It doesn't exist, but I wouldn't be surprised if one came out in the future. When XNA came out I was hoping someone would find a way to make a browser with it  I know that's never going to happen because it's meant to make games for 360 and Windows, but still. Can't hurt to hope :p
MadFerIt
Honestly for me personally a web browser on my consoles is pointless, because it's in the same room as my computer.. But I do understand the appeal for those with it in a separate room. As to whether or not Microsoft will release their own browser, it's unlikely. The PS3/Wii browsers are very inferior compared to a PC one (although the PS3 with Linux could = Firefox), and the demand for a 360 version isn't very high. But I definitely would hope they might consider creating one in the future, especially since IE 7 is a great browser (although I still prefer Firefox lol). .Markus
Considering MS is launching the new 360 with larger hard drive and HDMI connection, a web browser with proper peripherals doesn't seem like a big step.. Only the future will tell however...
NightmarE D
That would be kinda cool seeing a form of IE 7 on a 360 I wish they would have finished the IE based browser they were working on for the Sega Dreamcast. I always wondered how that would have come out looking. No shots of that exist right? I remember when I first heard about it I couldn't find anything on it except that it did exist within Microsoft, but they gave up on it. Not long ago my nephew come running in my room screaming "Planetweb is making a 360 browser". I said "Get off the crack, Microsoft would make it themselves if it ever happens. Stop believing everything your friends tell you" I try not to use walkthroughs as I'm going through a game, but if it ever comes down to that I have a laptop sitting next to me on the couch using wireless. Most of the time I only use walkthroughs after I've beaten a game. I'll go back trying to do whatever it was I couldn't do before. ipaqxp
Well, it's somewhat of a workaround, but there is a plugin for Media Center you can access via the extender to browse the web if you have a MCE pc.
huFFamOOse
It's funny how things come around. Microsoft made a huge effort to show they were making a games console, and not just a pc when they joined the console market by not having mouse and keyboard (and a web browser). Now Sony have pitched their PS3 as an all in one media hub I'm unsure as to whether Microsoft will wanna switch strategies.

AimLXJ
Rumor has it that the next update will contain a web browser.
DrCheese
I would guess that MS will sooner or later, considering that both the PS3 and the Wii have web browsers. It shouldn't be all that bad either, considering MS have the Internet Explorer engine. Edited March 25, 2007 by cheesegoduk

The Teej
Isn't the next update going to make the Dashboard NT Based? It should make porting IE a lot easier. Once I get a 360 and the Dev Kit I might attempt a web browser.
Nashy
NT Based? Would that mean someone could code a virtual PC type thing?

ToneKnee
It wouldn't be to hard for Microsoft to launch a web brower, after all, they have IE as a backbone.
