notuptome2004
Well the Wii browser is opera powered and when the finale version is released i am would assume it will look a bit better and have more functions. but i think microosft is just sitting and waiting to see how wide spread the use of the Wii/PS3 online browser is used you know. i think what really shock people is if Microsoft decided to take Windows vista ultimate and Allow people to run it on the Xbox 360 i wonder just wonder how well it run on the 360. Rumor: Microsoft still thinks 640k is enough Ram for the Entire world.

MadFerIt
ooo ... so wheres the bashing here for pinching idea from sony and nintendo ? Wait.. What the heck are you talking about? Sony and Nintendo didn't come up with the idea of a web browser in a console. SEGA did. And for web browser on the tv? That's been around even longer. Don't make arguments by denouncing overly biased 360 owners with your own overly biased illogical nonsense. you guys mean porting/creating something like this? :shiftyninja: Ah that it's.. This came even before the Dreamcast (and it's web browser), the older version anyway.

Why would it matter that SEGA isn't in this generation of consoles? They were still the first to implement it, or at least got the idea there. I'm having trouble following what you wanted proved in your second statement. Since the PS3 and Wii have a browser, many would like Microsoft to follow suit. You think it's ironic that 360 users want a browser? You know this isn't a new idea, people were questioning this before the PS3/Wii announced they were including a browser. Then your last run of the PS3 copying other technologies/services; what's your point? Those are both things that were unique to that system thus making them first (unless you count the sidewinder for PC controller), unlike the browser situation here. So ultimately you could say all three are copying SEGA.

XBL and motion sensing game controllers aren't by any means new, either. Not that I think it's a bad thing that the PS3 has similar functions to what XBL provides. It actually makes the PS3 more attractive to me.

You know what guys... hes right... XBox owners are very different than those PS3 and Wii owners, we have no use for a browser, as a matter of fact screw updates that add features simply because its a nice thing to have. As Xbox owners we need to unite and beg microsoft to give us updates that improve nothing and just add wallpapers! The truth is I can't sleep at night beside my Macbook thinking about how the PS3 and Wii have web browsers and my 360 doesn't... "us people" just want what Microsoft has never done in any of their products before, have a web browser :( and Sony did.. so we are jealous  I guess we have to live with being tools that steal ideas. Where's the person who came in to start nothing more than a flame war?......................there you are!!! If Microsoft adds an internet browser to the 360 I think they'd be doing it simply because there was a demand for it. Not because the Wii and PS3 both have one. George P Global Moderator Posted March 25, 2007 Global Moderator Share Posted March 25, 2007 If they do add one, I don't think it'll be IE7, they might take the mini-IE off of Windows Mobile and use that, since it's light and does the job. As for security, well the wii, PS3, DS and PSP all have web browsers, and neither have had any security issues with the browser. Although this is MS, the same company who make IE lol. How immature are you? Grow up. And you just contradicted yourself. How is it "stealing" this generation when it's been in generations before? If that's the logic you use, then I guess both the PS3 and Wii stole analog sticks from the 360. Despite the N64 being the first "Analog Stick" controller thus Nintendo was the first. Obviously insane logic. And when did I ever say I want a web browser on the 360? When the heck did Microsoft say there was one in planning? Honestly your logic is so ridiculous I can't even understand you. And there's a reason people say "Sony copied Xbox Live" or "Sony copied the Wii controller!". Xbox live was the first ever online integrated system on a console, and the Wii's motion controller was the first motion enabled console. But I'm not even the kind of person who cares whether they did or whether they didn't. I think it's great that the PS3 has an online service based on Xbox live, it's better then them not having any. And for the motion crap, I couldn't care either way. Oh and thanks for the insult, obviously you're reported.
George P Global Moderator Posted March 25, 2007 Global Moderator Share Posted March 25, 2007 Even though MS has had a bad record when it comes to security and IE5-6 problems, IE7 is a very good and secure browser. I've been using it since Beta2 and I love it. I also haven't noticed or installed many security updates for it, I could be wrong, but to this point since it went final months ago, It's maybe had 5 updates? Whatever the case, IE for the 360 wouldn't be the same, it'd be more basic, and closed off, and the 360 OS although NT based isn't anywhere near as big of a target as a full Windows OS with all the APIs and services and apps installed on your normal desktop/notebook. That said, how many, if any, security holes/problems have hit the browsers on Windows Mobiel/PocketPC and so on?
