Recommended Posts

ok so i had my 360 since November and never had problems with it, i played some crackdown last Sunday and earlier this week went to play it again, when it loaded into the level the screen froze (kinda like the old nes screen freeze pixels all over the place) so i tried other games nothing, then i got it to work for the longest time with Oblivion then it died on me again. Any one know whuts up with my 360, i still have all green lights.

i think :( is it worth it to buy that added fans for it?

Nope. At least the Nyko Intercooler. I only had it on for about 3 weeks, and the only thing it actually did for me was cause the three red rings of death, as there was eventually an issue with the power cord becoming lose after a month and not sitting snug enough. Took it off right then and there and no difference in performance, and that was about 6 months ago. Now it just sits and collects dust and was a waste of $20.

From my own experience and also my friends who own a 360, the truly crucial aspect of it all with the crashing and stability really seems to come down on where the power supply is itself. It definitely needs to have a decent amount of breathing room with nothing immediately around it or on it, and is best when it lays on a hard, non carpeted surface which is the most ideal place for it.

I have one of those Nyko Intercoolers, the one that hook up to the back, they take up space yes.. But it seems like they work great. Haven't had any problems with it yet but I got mine in December. It doesn't overheat either or heat up, seems like it's cool all the time. Maybe it's the enviroment.
