macrosslover
I have an old xbox that i'm thinking of handing down to a cousin, but before I do there is an issue with the system I'd like to try to fix myself if possible. basically the power button on my system doesn't seem to work anymore, so it won't power the console on, however the eject button will power the system on. to turn it off i just have to unplug the cord from the back...a very clunky solution. so I looked online for possible solutions and found a few, and so I bought a power/eject button assembly for a few bucks off ebay to swap into my xbox. now assuming that seller didn't send me a assembly that had the same problem as mine, my system still had the power button not working issue. I wonder is there maybe something else I could do to try to fix it so the power button is functional. I've never modded the xbox and there was no kind of damage to the system previously, it just stopped working out of the blue one day and I refused to give MS $80 to fix something i'm sure was relatively easy. Olemus
just leave it and make do with pulling the cord, it makes not difference, and i dont think it will cause a big problem on the console with other components.
