_-Psycho-_
You cant update the codecs. But you can make a transcode on the fly. I use Transcode360 for that. Just install it on your computer and when you want to watch a movieclip on your x360 just press X i think it is and select transcode. Then 1-3 sec will pass by and the movie will start. (you need a decent computer for it to work because transcoding takes up alot of computing power) http://www.runtime360.com/

CPressland
When selecting the video on the 360 you have to click, Transcode. read the manual on the site
Kraftman
Okay, if you have a fast PC, you must: a) Make sure you can connect to your PC's media center from the 360 b) Install Transcode 360 on the PC c) On the 360, go to your media center, find the file you want to view, hit X. d) Hit something with "more" in it e) Hit Transcode f) Enjoy XviD/DivX/anything else on your 360. +dnast Subscriber² Posted March 25, 2007 Subscriber² Share Posted March 25, 2007 I just wanted to add that your PC doesn't have to be that fast to transcode on the fly. I'm only using an AthlonXP 2600+ and I can browse the web, watch YouTube, and run a BitTorrent client in the background just fine while somebody else is watching a movie that's being transcoded by my PC. I have to say Transcode360 is quite impressive. :)
LiGhTfast
yeh transcode seems a lot less intensive than tversity and other programs, im on a old 2500xp and works spot on :)
gigapixels Veteran Posted March 25, 2007 Veteran Share Posted March 25, 2007 Yeah, Transcode360 rocks. If you're looking for a Vista version however you'll need to go to transcode360.co.uk...
