Smashing Pumpkin
Patience, my friend. Patience. You could leave a queue of downloads overnight. And wake up to find a mass of melted plastic behind my 360 that was once my TV/DVD, I think not! Also knowing my crappy connection it'd probably disconnect during the night 5 minutes after I went to sleep :( Good suggestion though. Thanks Richard xxx
American Ninja
When you signup your XBL account you get a free month of XBL Gold. I downloaded a bunch of stuff. Arcade games,GOW map pack, gamer pics and themes. I even play GOW online :) I left my 360 download stuff overnight and it didnt melt lol
DirtyLarry Veteran Posted March 28, 2007 Veteran Share Posted March 28, 2007 I'm thinking - take the HDD to a friends house who does have broadband, download updates and XBLA games, then take the HDD back to mine and reap the benefits? Without a doubt the best idea of the bunch. What you can get in a few hours at a friends would take a few days otherwise. Just make sure you bring every game you own as well, so while connected you can get the update for the game if there is one.

Isn't the Dashboard update applied onto the system not the HDD?
Smigit
Well, I know the Xbox won't know the difference, but it will be extremely slow and laggy, probably unplayable. I mean, Xbox Live on dial-up? No, just no. But for silver subscription it's fine. It'll depend on what your playing but of course. Not every game is a racer or fps.
