sharpy2k4
Ive got a few DVDs that ive borrowed off mates and copied that work on my 360, such as Jimmy Car Live, and it works fine even though its on a DVD RW disc. However, my mate gave me Casino Royale as an AVI file over msn and i burn it onto disc with Nero Express, but that doesnt work. i swear ive used DVD RW's with .avis on the disc on my 360 before, so why isnt it working now :s, or if anyone knows a way to burn a dvdrw to work on a 360 then that would be very great. NoLiMiT06
As far as I know this is considered pirating. But I can tell you that you will find many of your answers via www.google.com
Coldgunner
I'm guessing it'll use divx or xvid codec, which 360 won't support, whereas it prob supports avi files with different codecs on them. btw, careful with talking about pirate discs on this forum. magik
You'll need something like TVersity.com or Orb.com
sharpy2k4
Yeh i realise this could do with pirating discs, but tbh, my mates might as well give me their dvds, cause they're never at home to watch them being in the navy, they come home, buy dvds, then bugger off somewhere doing work lol. So if i can ask, where can i find a list of codecs the 360 supports, with a convertor?
Lingwo
You'll have to burn it as DVD video. NeroVision Express can do the job easily and convert almost any format into DVD video files. The only video codecs 360 supports are WMV and WMV-HD i believe.

sharpy2k4
yeah ive tried that, ^^ it was a 1.3gb avi file, (well it was in 2 parts, that i merged with anohter file) and it runs fine on my computer, but putting in the xbox 360 it doesnt work, im using Nero Vision Express to burn onto my Hard Drive as its like 4.4 gb and for some reason NVE only lets it be 4.38 gb to burn, so it wont actually fit onto the dvd even though that is 4.7gb. so ill use dvd shrink, but still, it should work on my 360 but it wont, which means it doesnt work on my dvd player downstairs. :(
