Cry more.

I think it's a good deal. The 20gb drive is $100, which is something like $5 a gig. The 120gb drive is $180, which is like $1.5 a gig. Plus you get a ton more stuff pre-loaded on it. Some people don't have broadband connections and will appreciate all the pre-loaded demos that come on it. It's definitely a better bang for the buck. If the 120gb drive was priced like the 20gb drive is, it would cost $600.

Criticize it all you want, but when it comes down to it, the majority of the gamers will have the 120gb drive and will be ditching their 20gb drive.

Yeah because we all know people without broadband need a 120GB HDD seeing how they will download stuff onto it. Oh, that's right, You need TO HAVE BROADBAND to access xbox live! DUH! Why would someone be stupid enough to get a bigger hdd when they can't use it to it's potential?

HMMMM...The HDD doesn't come PRELOADED with crap such as videos and music not available for free on marketplace now does it? Your point doesn't make sense. I was talking about how the preloaded crap is just a bunch of useless garbage and is absolutely no incentive to buy the hdd, not whether it is good to store videos and music on.

My HDD fills quickly when I download videos and demos from the marketplace. I would like a bigger hdd but for $180? No thanks. Adding some crap that I can already download is taken as an insult as well.

Haha, okay. No probs!

I've never tried it before but... Can you copy videos from an external device to an internal one? Or would you still need to hook it up via SATA to your computer?

Also, what formats can the 360 view?... All I know is .WMV and .MPE(G)

No, you can't copy anything to the internal drive except for backgrounds from what I've heard.

Also, I believe those are the only 2 formats the 360 currently supports unless, of course, you transcode and stream the video. I'll be one happy person if they add support for the rest of the popular formats in the Spring update. My poor PC just can't handle most HD content, but streaming the few hi-def WMVs I have works great.

There's a lot of whiners in this thread. If you don't want the content then just delete it.

And to the person who said it's pointless to have the 120GB HDD if you don't broadband, that's not true at all.

You can get discs from gaming stores and magazines that have a lot of content on them to transfer over to your 360 and you wouldn't need Live. I know a few people that do this. So the next time you want to comment on something, you should know what you're talking about first.

You're right. I honestly forgot about that. Still, the stuff that you can transfer to your 360 is mainly gamerpics and themes - demos play straight from the disc. I think a few months ago there was free Oblivion pack on one disc. That one pack is the only content of a significant size that I can recall coming from OXM (I don't know of any other magazines that provide 360 content in the US) and it still wouldn't put a dent in the 20gb drive let alone the 120gig. Of course there may have been something that I missed, so I'll admit I could be wrong.

As far as the "whiners", I don't think people mind that the content comes with the HDD. It's just funny because it appears like the free content is being touted as a feature (which, I guess, is debatable) even though all that stuff is already freely available to anybody with at least a Silver account.

isnt anybody going to get the elite because of the HDMI? which I have on my hd tv. Also is it worth getting the elite one for the HDMI or not really that much of a difference from the HD settings I have now which is 480p and 1080I. Also will Gamestop or EB Games allow you to trade in your premuim xbox 360 towards that elite one guessing turning in your premium one will be maybe 100 to 200 dollars off the elite one. I dont care for the harddrive space I dont download the tv shows or movies on my hd from the marketplacer live. But I am getting mass effect and halo 3 and wondering if it better on the HDMI or the regular 1080I setting and if theya difference can you please explain and how much of a difference.

Apparently, you're fairly new here and don't know me. :D :p
