DaSwissDude Posted March 29, 2007 Share Posted March 29, 2007 (edited) I am currently building up my home theater system, i already have a Sanyo PLV-z5 720p beamer, and now comes the audio part (I currently run it over my stereo). Im currently deciding between the following amps (reviews say lots of positive, and ok price): -Onkyo TX SR 604 -Onkyo TX-SR 674 E The question is is there a point in having the amp also up-scale the source material (PAL, etc.) to HD for the HDMI output, or will the beamer do just as well. The cables (except the HDMI) are already there, so there is no question about cables. Im wondering if theres a point in paying 200EUR more just for scaling/converting up image? would the beamer do as well a job? Any input is appreciated... :yes: BTW, as 5.1 system i wil get something along the lines of a Teufel concept P speaker system. in case you have any other tips, as im new to this home cinema business.
