Firefox 2.0.0.3 will not save any images

Recommended Posts

I am trying to save some wallpapers off of interfacelift.com and when right clicking on the image to save to a location, firefox downloads and acts like it is saving, but when going to the folder, there are no images....any thoughts on this?

What usually fixes any problems for me is to make a new profile in Firefox. I would recommend going to C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox and renaming the "profiles" folder to "profiles.old" and "profiles.ini" to "profiles.old.ini"

Don't delete anything, just incase you have anything that needs to be restored.

Doing this will remove ANYTHING you have ever done to Firefox. The settings will be default, the extensions, the themes, the bookmarks, everything. You can restore your bookmarks by overwriting the new bookmarks.html with the new one.

I have the same problem... with ffox and interfaceLIFT...

I also tried downloading them using Opera... but when I Right click -> save image as... but the save dialog never appears

I think is an InterfaceLIFT problem... ???

  • 2 weeks later...

Same thing happens... but with the Menalto PHP Gallery (save image as, will save the main.php file and not the image, whereas in IE7 and Opera, work fine!)

No such problem here. :D

Went to interfaceLIFT.com, then to wallpapers, selected the 1600 x 1200 of Popocatepetl volcano, clicked "download", it opened it in the same tab, right clicked "Save image as", selected My Documents, saved, checked and it was there.

If you have No Script loaded as an extension you'll have to allow interfaceLIFT to run scripts of course.

- Just wanted to add , some very nice walls too!

Hi, I hope this isn't too late to help - delete your downloads.rdf file when Firefox is closed. It'll re-make the file when it starts next and the problem should be fixed.

Apparently when your download history is far too huge or when your computer crashes this file can get corrupt causing this problem. I had this same problem where files saved through the the Save As function never showed up in the downloads window and never saved and just fixed it by doing this.

Downloads.rdf is in your profile folder. Go to Start -> Run -> type in "%APPDATA%" without the quotes -> Mozilla -> Firefox -> Profiles -> Your profile name (will probably be *gibberish*.default) -> downloads.rdf
