ootput
Hi kind veterans, I'd like to know if it were possible to make IE to open a new blank window. Currently, IE displays the previous window's contents when creating a new window. Thankyou Sentio
google123
There is not a way to change it if you are using IE 6, which I recommend over IE7 at this time. There is however a way around it. Create a new shortcut on the desktop that points to "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" -nohome This will create a shortcut that opens IE with a blank page. Then you can set a shortcut key in the shortcuts properties. I use Ctrl + Alt + N which when pressed opens a new IE window with a blank page. This is close to the open new window command of Ctrl+N so it works fine for me. You can also move the shortcut you created to the quick launch area for a simple click operation that will open a new IE window with the blank page. Tokar
The -nohome switch is nice...but isnt the problem related to the homepage setting in the Internet Options?
google123
Its not the homepage because when you open another IE window, it opens with whatever page was on the first window whether its the homepage or something else. You can always press escape as soon as you choose "open new window" and it will load blank but you have to do it quickly.
Tokar
Oh right...that issue. I have become so accustomed to doing what you say...hitting ESC repeatedly.
