hendrikch
Hi all, I'm using FF 2.0.0.3 in Vista, and sometimes in some web pages (even like neowin), the page I try to load seems to just stuck at some points, sometimes it doesn't even show the page, sometimes it loaded the page fine, but the progress bar still shows it's loading, sometimes it loaded up the page well, but no images, and so on. If I try to refresh the page, the page will again sometimes load just fine. I'm not sure why, I thought it was my Internet connection, but using IE7 to load the exact same page, I could get the page loaded in IE7, but somehow sometimes FF just get stuck at the page loading. Another possibilty I can think of is because of either Gmail or Google Reader opening too many connections? I've tried creating a new profile but the problem still occurs. The extensions I have in this new profile are: AIO Gestures, del.icio.us, DownThemAll, and TabMixPlus. I have much more extensions in FF in my office, but this page loading stuck problem doesn't happen in FF in office. Is there something that I can look out for? If it's not clear, I could probably post a screenshot. Thanks.
primexx
I've noticed it in quite a few Firefox versions already. I believe it has to do with your connection settings in about:config? Not sure because I never bothered to check since it doesnt bother me as I just press escape to stop loading since it doesnt affect the content of the page usually. Pages doesn't get loaded, or page gets half-loaded. Anyway, I tried a small experiment, with my Google Reader open, I try to navigate to neowin, it gets stuck. The moment I close Google Reader tab, neowin page gets loaded, and so I thought it's Google Reader fault. But now, with no Google Reader tab open, I still experience the same problem, so not sure why. I've reset my connection parameters in about:config to its default values, see if it helps. Thanks. hendrikch
just to close up this issue, I think I finally found what my issue was. The moment i went to about:config, and RESET all connection related values to its default values, my Firefox has been running and loading pages fine now. I guess the problem is, in office, I have TONS of connections, and therefore no problem with having very large values for max no. of connections, but when I set the same value at home, I guess my router or my ISP can't take so many connections, and therefore Firefox gets stuck.
