Steve Gosselin
yes, Use Default Programs (set your default programs) under Vista's Control panel.
david622
under the list for browsers, it gives IE and "current default" i can't choose opera; when i try the current default it still uses IE. also, i should add that in Gmail's mail checker system tray program, i can't choose opera as a browser. i wonder if it has something to do with the fact that i just copied my opera directory over from the other computer and didn't actually install it. lemme try installing it; i'll post back with an update
david622
the fresh install did the trick. just goes to show that taking the lazy route and just copying files from an old computer to the new computer isn't always the most effective route :)
Steve Gosselin
All works fine now? :)
david622
yep! i suppose because it never went through an actual installation process, the computer didn't really detect its existance, but yeah, running through an installation it worsk fine. as a matter of fact, i was too lazy to import all my data from the old installation to the new one, so once the computer detected the new installation, i just deleted everything in the new opera folder and copied everything in from my old one, and all is well :)
