Microsoft Website using Firefox

Recommended Posts

Ohh damn niceee one, haha, microsoft is using firefox no there, funny...

Are you guys retarded? To download apps requiring WGA from Firefox, you HAVE to install a plugin because there is no ActiveX plugin like there is in IE. In fact in that screen, if you look at the top it says "Netscape and Firefox users may have to install etc. etc.". This is not news. And not funny. It's not anything.

Umm, it's a screenshot demonstrating how to use WGA with Firefox. It wouldn't be a very useful screenshot if it used a different browser...

In other news, employees at Microsoft's Mac Business Unit were caught developing software on Macs.

It was never meant to be funny or a "What!>?" kind of topic--I was just interested to see that they would use a Firefox dialog openly even if you were to use a Firefox browser just to help the user out. It's just interesting that they accept the fact that people use other browsers and that they're going to help those people out too.

It's less of a surprise than you think. They're a business, they have to service all their customers.

wow. This thread is completely stupid... and useless.

What did you expect, instructions to download software for FF using IE?

Your interest and test of the site is fine, but then you came here and actually typed a post about it. That's why this is funny.

Nevermind the fact that plenty of MS employees use Firefox. It shouldn't really be that big of a shock. Plenty use Google, own Macs and Nintendo Wiis, use non-MS instant messaging services, and so on. It's not like we all live under some big Microsoft-branded rock.

Most MS web properties, like the new Hotmail and Live.com, have made Firefox support a top priority since a significant number of their users are running Firefox these days. As more and more people use Firefox, it gets easier and easier to justify supporting it.

I agree thats its silly to point the fact that to show users how to use a microsft technology is to be installed in Firefox, MS used firefox.

But just for the sake of pointing out, i have inserted below an image of a screenshot that was suppose to be realeased by Microsoft to demo there new technology "Silver Light"

I dont know how authentic is this image as i got from a website <http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20070416-microsoft-tries-to-outshine-flash-with-silverlight.html>. And it did not have a link to the main one on MS site

Not very useful for Microsoft if they are trying to create a Flash killer without support for other browsers and platforms, right? ;) Of course they're going to show how they support other browsers.
