Carpo
I moved my server from slackware linux to freebsd and the only issues i have found is that it stores a few files in different places, other than that i am well pleased with it :)
Glowstick
Wall of text. FreeBSD has way more elegant solutions for various problems. My favorite is freakin' GEOM, abstracting the whole disk stuff. Anyway, within FreeBSD, additions and feature integrations are planned out way in advance. There isn't the "Well this patch only recently come into our attention works, just hammer it into the kernel"-mentality. The code quality is usually better because of this.
