Question

Well i was wondering in the picture i attached is there any way to get the umbrella by itself, say on a blue back drop instead of having clutter in the back? could someone walk me through doing so?

that looks great maybe they blue a lil darker and if you possibly had time could you also make on with the tables and the 2 chairs and get rid of the clutter in the back? Also how did you do it? cuz im gonna need to do it later on, did you just use the laso tool or what?

use the polygonal lasso tool and click around some stuff, connect, delete...keep doing that and zoom in where need be. when you're done make it a new layer and you can put a nice gradient in the background.

i wouldnt recommend the lasso tool for a very precise cut out

instead, use filter>extract

set the brush size to 2, zoom in and slowly work your way through the edges

set smooth to 1-8 depending on how circular your edges are and voila.

you should also use blending options to make the object blend in with the new background.
