as to the commitment aspect....

if in the next game (if there is one) you set participation rules such as :

1. each person who signs up agrees that the game will last a week or whatver

2. each person who signs up agress to vote every day and, if applicable, to do their duties as sherriff/doc/mafia as well on a daily basis. people who miss more than one of these days responsibilities will spontaneously combust

3. each person who signs up agrees to post to the game thread at least once a day, with something to stir up the other players, whether its true or lies

just some thoughts.... btw, who did the mafia kill today?

I think maybe some of the people signed up for the hell of it but then couldn't actually be arsed to do much, hopefully next time everyone will get more involved and work together rather than just guessing and not communicating much with each other.

I agree!

I like the idea of an alliance. There has to be more strategy.

Sorry I'm late, but I'm trying to fit this around my life as best as possible. Anyway...

Day 6, Night

DaveAlmighty is the latest citizen suspected to be Mafia.

He was beheaded in the town square this morning, however the two remaining Mafia members have said that he is not Mafia.

The Sheriff suspects that perhaps the Mafia are influencing the voting, and therefore all remaining townspeople have to act quickly to stop the Mafia from gaining control over the town. It is now time for everybody to step forward and make unilateral votes in order to find the two remaining mobsters and win back our town.

Day 7, Morning

MORNING NEWS:

One week on, and the Mafia are stronger than ever. Later tonight the Neowin Times will be holding a special event to celebrate the lives of our recently lost townspeople. There will be fireworks and a barbecue. Book your tickets now.

In other news, Hankyone, or what appears to be Hankyone, was found in little pieces at the coast this morning, after having been fed through a woodchipper. The Mafia were seen fleeing the scene in their orange wagon. A pair of scissors appears to be left behind, which is currently being examined.

If you don't want this to happen to you tomorrow, get voting now!

Man I am still waiting for the "tied up and sledgehammer to the limbs". And how are we to "celebrate" for the lost townspeople. It's is like saying they lost their lives so we could see who the Mafia is... alright that may not be a bad thing.
