I am in Computer Hardware Wholesale, on the Gold-Coast, Australia. I specialise in branded products like Compaq, IBM , HP, Toshiba. If you need pricing, I will be doing special pricing for Neowin Readers, Include your login name as well. You can e-mail me at vincent@neowin.net :) Our company website will be up in the next week or so.

The website www.gamedude.com.au offer OEM hardware for most products, Which is NOT retail. They are meant not meant to sell those direct. OEM should be distrubuted with a new pc. I think warranty will be an issue with OEM products, because you have to go back to the reseller. :s

sry, i have just found out that my mboard only supports 256MB sticks, I am in Sydney, but the postage wouldn't be that much for ram. I have 3 dimm slots now, 1 with 128MB PC133 and two free, i want to fill them up with 2 x 256MB PC133's.

Compaq original part number

Kingston #: KTC3088/256

Mfr Equiv #: 171558-B21

System Memory Configuration:

Standard Memory: 64, 128 MB (removable)

Maximum Memory: 768 MB

Expansion: 3 sockets

Host Type: MiniTower PC

Class: Desktop PCs

Central Processor: 700 - 1000 MHz AMD Athlon

Bus Architecture: PCI/ISA/AGP

Native O/S: Windows

It should be correct, Can you please check your Compaq manual and see if you have a part number for the 256MB ram. I will keep looking. Compaq uses kingston memory as their part supplier. If you are buying, You are buying original Compaq ram.
