Safari for Windows Question

So far I am liking Safari for Windows. Definately not faster than IE or FF, but it a beta so I will not judge.

Can you change the skin? the drab grey is awefull.

As far as im aware it is skinnable, to what degree i have no idea, i dont prefer it to Firefox although i have used it solid for two days and ive noticed some good points that keep me using it, one aspect is the Font Smoothing, it looks gorgeous and makes reading webpages so much easier, im going to look to try to emulate this feature in Firefox somehow, however it has crashed a few times and its annoying losing tabs, so basic functionality like crash recovery is not available which really should be, although its Beta so im not going to complain too much.

Overall i think its a fantastic piece of kit, its very nice to use, but Firefox is still the number one browser for me, and its not as if the Windows market requires another browser to be added to the melting pot, we already have IE7, Firefox 2.0, Opera 9 and Flock (essentially firefox, different UI) now Safari, so i dont think for a second Apple did this for market share from either Mozilla or Microsoft as chances are they will lose, but more a technical excercise to see if the people on PC who love iTunes and iPod would download Safari (or iBrowser) and use it as much as they do other apple products, then Apple with their fingers crossed will be hoping that these particular users find their nearest Apple Store and purchase a Mac.

.... hmm not for me, but still :)

It looks out of place on Vista. No glass, and it doesnt fit in at all! otherwise however, its quite good.. uses a horrible font but is quick!

doesnt have the RSS like firefox tho!

I know people are saying stuff like "It's crap.. but it's beta, so i'll give it a chance", including me.

.. But, how long was Firefox in beta? It was a fantastic browser even as Firebird/Phoenix. Apple don't really have any excuse. :p

I disagree, when I used Phoenix and the early builds of Firebird I encountered so many issues that made unpractical to use. I ended up using that MyIE2 browser (which is called something else these days).

Being in "beta" has a lot to do with it.
