i use a iiyama 19" 454... cost me 250 squid.

goes up to 1920x1440, i use 1600x1200 @ 75Hz

I think its excellent for all round use.. would definatly recommend one.

I use the same monitor and run it at 1280 by 1024 at 100hz, but it can do 1600 by 1200 at 100hz too.

I even have an option for 2048 by 1536 at 80hz and have maxed out Quake 3 on it.

It has built in USB hub, speakers, High brightness mode for DVD's.

All in all a great monitor that PC Pro (UK mag) has listed as their No1 19 inch monitor.

For graphic design I'd definitely recommend an LCD screen.

I have an hp L1810 [18"]. It took a little getting used to as I've used CRT monitors for maybe 13 years, but now I wouldn't consider ever going back to a CRT.

samsung 900NF (what im using right now) or the 950P (fathers) both are great but there's somtimes a reflection on his because its not a flatscreen like mine. I'm running the 900NF at 100hrtz 1280x960 but it can go up to 2048x1536

You might have trouble finding one in Australia. I like the Hitachi 19'' CM721F Super Flat CRT Monitor, 1600x1200@75Hz/0.20mm Hor dpi. You could pick one up for about A$560.
