cosrocket
I'm running Firefox 2.0.0.4 in Windows Vista. I don't know what happened but since yesterday every time I open Firefox I have 10 tabs opening underneath the bookmarks bar and I want to get rid of them. I went into the tab options but nothing I select stops these tabs from coming up when I start a new Firefox session. I even went so far to delete all of my bookmarks and uninstalling Firefox altogether but when I reinstall Firefox the tabs are still there! I then uninstalled Firefox again and did a search for any left over files but none come up. Can someone tell me what I'm supposed to do to just have my homepage come up without all of the tabs! Thanks! I'm pretty proactive as far as security. I run as a standard user and update my antivirus and anti spyware frequently. I just ran a scan with Defender and no malware was found. The strange thing is I went into Firefox safe mode and selected restore all defaults and they still come up, I'm stumped!

AltecXP
I sounds like your homepage is causing them to open or perhaps a reinstall of firefox. Otherwise its spy/ad-ware.

cosrocket
My homepage was Neowin. Anyway I solved the problem, I uninstalled Firefox in safe mode and then did a search for any vestiges of remaining files and deleted them. I booted up normally reinstalled Firefox and now all is ok. I have no idea what happened but I'm glad it's fixed.

supernova_00
you probably set all those tabs as your homepage. As in you you had all those tabs opened, went to tools->options->main, and told it to set current pages as your homepage.
