L3thal Veteran Posted November 6, 2008 Veteran Share Posted November 6, 2008 I just got myself a MacBook two days ago (who would've ever thought) and I am trying to figure out why Java is so slow and sometimes unresponsive with Firefox but works fine with Safari. FOr example, I attempt to run Scottrader from scottrade.com and it takes 2-3 minutes to load and it is really slow. If I run it under Safari it runs perfect. Any ideas? Just install Windows as you normally would. But I don' think you can then go and dual boot OS X once you've done that. Correct me if I'm wrong . . . If you delete the partition that holds Mac OS X, the only way to be able to re-install it would be to run Mac OS X from an external drive, run Disk Utility and then recreate a partition... Just remember that the Apple key takes over pretty much all functions from the CTRL key in Windows. I also recommend you look at several apple blogs for essential information and tips.
