BitTorrent is a P2P system that makes transfering large files (or groups of files) amongst a large group of people easy, fast and efficient. The BitTorrent network is impressive mostly for the speed and reliability with which you get files that have been recently released. As long as a .torrent file has enough people sharing then you can be assured that it will start quickly and maintain a good download speed.
Always remember to leave your BitTorrent client open to help distribute the files!

Just did a clean install of 2003 Small Business R2 CD1 (no other CDs yet), 2003 Server SP2, AutoPatcher 2003 May & June, with May Extras and June DirectX addons. Microsoft Update is showing the following still need to be installed (about 98.6MB total in downloads--EEK!):

Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool - July 2007 (KB890830)

Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework, Version 1.1 Service Pack 1 (KB933854)

Security Update for Windows Server 2003 (KB926122)

Update for Windows Server 2003 (KB936357)

Security Update for Windows Media Player 6.4 (KB925398)

Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 7 for Windows Server 2003 (KB933566)

Cumulative Security Update for Outlook Express for Windows Server 2003 (KB929123)

MSXML 4.0 SP2 Security Update (KB927978)

Remote Desktop Connection (Terminal Services Client 6.0) for Windows Server 2003 (KB925876)

Update for Microsoft Core XML Services (MSXML) 6.0 Service Pack 1 (KB934268)

Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0: x86 (KB928416)

Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0: x86 (KB829019)

I've installed all I can from AutoPatcher 2003. Any ideas? I thought some of this would be included...

OK, I'm not crazy then! Maybe I'll try installing everything without checking Windows Update 7 and see what happens... I'll do some testing in VMWare...

I've been going through the list and was going to clarify my previous post. These were listed in Microsoft Update for a 2003 Small Business Server R2 SP2 CD1 (no other CDs installed yet), but are NOT included in AutoPatcher June 2007, perhaps they could be added in July:

Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool - July 2007 (KB890830)

Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework, Version 1.1 Service Pack 1 (KB933854)

Security Update for Windows Server 2003 (KB926122)

Update for Windows Server 2003 (KB936357)

Update for Microsoft Core XML Services (MSXML) 6.0 Service Pack 1 (KB934268)

Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0: x86 (KB928416)

Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0: x86 (KB829019)

Update for Windows Server 2003 (KB934238)

Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework, Version 2.0 (KB928365)

These were also detected by Microsoft Update as not installed even though AutoPatcher had installed them. Maybe this is a bug with Windows Update 7 as Blaze suggested. I'll have to test this more:

Security Update for Windows Media Player 6.4 (KB925398)

Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 7 for Windows Server 2003 (KB933566)

Cumulative Security Update for Outlook Express for Windows Server 2003 (KB929123)

MSXML 4.0 SP2 Security Update (KB927978)

Remote Desktop Connection (Terminal Services Client 6.0) for Windows Server 2003 (KB925876)

So I guess there are quite a few big updates to be downloaded manually on a new 2003 SBS install. Hope that clears up my previous question/post... :)

The only one of the bottom ones I can figure out is that KB925398 was updated today to install on 2003 SP2.

Hi,

http://ap.snowmanuk.net Mirror has been updated.

I am also trialling a world-wide Content Distribution Network (CDN) called Coblitz Codeen (see http://codeen.cs.princeton.edu/coblitz/ for info) for the distribution of AP updates.

If you download from the "Primary Download Location" link from my mirror, the files will be served by your local CDN node in country or nearest to you.

This reduces the BW load on my server, as I upload it once to the CDN then it spreads across the world.

Please give it a try the more people that download the better the CDN distributes the file.

Any problems please e-mail snowmanuk at hotmail dot com

Enjoy, and Keep up the good work AP....
