Double-D
yeah sorry that was my girlfriend and i cant seem to edit it.. but does anyone know any possibilities to why its not working? im using the line sudo modprobe ndiswrapper and according to some information i found, after a few seconds the hardware should start blinking and i can continue to setup the network, but its not happening
h3xis
What's happening then? After issuing modprobe nothing should happen if everything is working. What do you get when you run sudo iwconfig?
Double-D
the hardware is a usb stick with a flashing light on it, supposedly it should start blinking when i modprobe iwconfig comes up with lo no wireless extentions eth0 no wireless extentions

h3xis
Did you install ndiswrapper from a binary or did you compile it yourself? I've only had to use ndiswrapper once and the binary never worked and I ended up having to compile it myself, which did work. You have the linux-headers for your kernel installed, right? h3xis
The binary would be a .deb. If you compiled and installed it yourself from the .tgz then you're fine. I'm not sure what you mean when you say you installed the gui and what update?
Indeed22
Hey im having the exact same problem. My kernel version is 2.6.18 on debian and after installing the driver on ndiswrapper i get no wireless extension on eht0. When i use ndiswrapper -l it shows that the driver is installed and the shows the device. I followed the instructions and such so if anybody could figure this out i would grealty apreciate it.
