halcyoncmdr
^ That just makes a new tab... I think when you disable speed dial and hace it set to a blank homepage it says something like "Show speed dial" or something in the lower right corner. Or go to opera:config#UserPrefs and look for "Speed Dial State", set it to 1 :)
AimLXJ
^Exactly, when you open a new tab speed dial opens up but from the view of it now, seems like he disabled it.

halcyoncmdr
Try playing with the number of total connections in the preferences. I upped mine to 64/128 and I noticed a difference. I am on a 6mbps connection BTW.
